I am spearheading a cancer fundraiser in the spirit of my brother, sportswriter Steve Pivovar. I need your help in retweeting this to get it out to as many people as possible. Looking for any auctionable ( silent or live) material or anyone who wants to buy a raffle.
@mdpeavy@Ian__Cummings@cronkb@QuintonLucasKC Unfortunately, no, they are not in place. The ID checkpoints are operational as they have been for years. Weapons screening is still not permitted.
@hambidextrous@KCStar I’m not sure of the specifics at City Hall. There are still a few steps to be completed before screening can happen. Checkpoints are still in place for IDs, same as they have been for the past few years.
@KC_Jonny@mellinger Equitable only in that all the businesses have to contribute to the pool. I certainly understand the user pays the tax, didn’t mean to misrepresent that. I’d happily buy you a beer if you pass through Kelly’s.
@mellinger@KC_Jonny Hi Jon - the CID tax is the most equitable way for businesses in the district to share the cost of beautification, marketing, street cleaning and most of all security. All money from the tax goes back in the district to enhance the user experience.
