The day has finally arrived – my new @OUPHistory book Making Makers: The Past, the Present, and the Study of Warhas been published and is available for purchase and download.
My favourite Ashington gag:
A sparky turns up at a clurrb in Ashington and asks the barmaid where the mains are.
“Tha just doon there past the ladies.” ⚡️
Dort and Publius love to blame Iraq and Afghanistan on war college professors. You wont find many war college profs had good things to say about our strategy process in those wars, and many (half? more?) made prescient warnings before we went in
Important to understand the movement attacking the war colleges isn't just about 'wokeness' or non-military topics, but is fundamentally anti-Clausewitizan (and other eggheads) in favor of all tactics and war as only total war free of "politics" (i.e., policy goals)
The manuscript of my latest book, The Battle for American Opinion: British Propaganda and Anglo-American Relations, 1914-1917 has just gone off to the publisher. 🎉🥳
Now, time for a glass of wine!🍷
