One more time, how to write: Stop not writing. Sit down by pre-arrangement w/yourself. No one cares if you write or not so you’d better. Keep your butt in the chair. Write a small passage, badly. Make it better, ie take out adverbs & boring parts. then write another passage badly
Jesus was not a white, American man.
The U.S. flag is not a symbol for the Church or for Jesus.
The National Anthem is not a holy hymn.
Slavery was not a “necessary evil” to build empire and to “bring” Africans to Jesus.
Note: Africa has long-known and welcomed Christ Jesus.
Self-love is revolutionary. We cannot fight for others when we're fighting a war inside ourselves. Compassion is a power that we first bestow on ourselves & then give away through our actions—to people, to our planet. When we recognize this, that is when love becomes our legacy.
"We haven't risen yet to the level of ourselves
Knowledge grows slowly like a wisdom tooth..."

That we have somehow managed in the middle of a global pandemic and a worldwide outcry for justice in America to consume ourselves with theological armchair debates over critical race theory and the like is a testimony of how far we have shifted from Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
@Writing_Today@poetswritersinc I love that she doesn't “stop or proofread or think about it or change anything until the whole mass of clay has been thrown down.” @Writing_Today Definitely speaks to writing as a process!

@carl_young A3: I loved Harwayne's terminology that addressed how it is necessary to "celebrate and extend." Celebrate a student's successes and strong areas, and extend suggestions and curiosity to areas that may be less clear. #TComp
@carl_young A2: Harwayne's suggestions help writing students begin to see themselves as capable writers. Later in life, her suggestions could help them in workplace meetings when feedback and active listening are critical. #TComp
@carl_young A1: Harwayne adds that students should view themselves as writing teachers so that they respect one another's writing, provide meaningful feedback, and share their work. #TComp
My #OneWord2021 is patience; patience with myself, others, and the state of the world. I practice patience with myself, others, and the world when I acknowledge that healing isn’t linear. #TComp
