Earlier this morning, @AsiwajuOladimej reached out to me in relation to the challenges I faced in processing a birth certificate for my child and my own reissuance.
He works with the National Population Commission. He asked me to share my contact details and he put a call through to me.
He listened to me, asked questions, took some details and assured me that he would get to work on both my reissuance and my child's certificate. We are not even in the same state.
I am happy to inform Nigerians that I have not only obtained my reissuance. I have also obtained my child's birth certificate. @AsiwajuOladimej did NOT make any monetary request.
He consistently made it clear that Nigeria and everything attached to it must work. He also reiterated his confidence in the digital process, stating that while there may be imperfections, which will get better with time, it has been used for millions of Nigerians, just as he ultimately did for my reissuance and my child's.
While I was making this tweet, another DM dropped from @OmoOmoAyan, who also introduced himself as a staff of NPC and expressed his willingness to look into my complaint and ensure that the documents were issued. I guess that he would also have followed up like @AsiwajuOladimej and get these documents out.
It is interesting to note that the process that produced these documents are devoid of any middleman, touts, or bribe.
Asiwaju has emphatically assured me that the digital platform works and that more Nigerians need to know about it, so as to prevent being extorted or having documents not recognised by the database issued to them.
If you give it a shot and it poses a challenge, he has expressed his availability and that of his colleagues to step in and assist.
I thank you, @AsiwajuOladimej and @OmoOmoAyan, may your faith in Nigeria be justified and may our civil service be blessed with more of your type.
May Nigeria work for us all.
When a leader does an exceptional job, everyone notices. There’s a reason people still constantly point back to Olumide Akpata’s time as NBA President as the ideal standard.
The Nigerian Bar Association is set to elect its next President. Thousands of lawyers. Three candidates.
I sat across from them and asked the questions the Bar needs answers to.
Over to you.

@The_Ogundipe Interesting read as usual.
You wouldn’t know how much your tweets has been helpful to a young lawyer like me in litigation. Recently, I’m always at a constant lookout for your tweets.
Thanks for all you do chief.🙏
There is one reputable Senior Advocate of Nigeria in Ibadan who doesn't pay the young lawyers in his law firm via transfer so that they won't have evidence of his poor payment. Baba pays monthly in cash.
Laise Olooopa 😆 🤣 😂!

@aproko_doctor@Unical1975@DrTunjiAlausa At this point, I think it’s very important for necessary institutions to look into the administrative activities of @Unical1975.
