Exactly. Marriage stopped being the foundation you build life on and became the reward after you’ve ‘figured it all out.’
But the irony is: you never fully figure life out.
The old model worked because two people grew into adulthood together, not because they waited until perfection.
Government Procurement
I sit in Public Accounts Committee. Every proceedings, we look into Government tenders and procurements.
Sadly, there are many corruption, cartels, abuse of power and leakages. They link to politicians as well as civil servants. Remember 1MDB, Janawibawa and millions stashed in safe houses and ceiling?
How do we curb these murky procurements?
Yesterday PM @anwaribrahim introduced a brave Government Procurement Act 2025.
The act introduced strict procedures to regulate tenders and procurements. And most importantly it introduces an Independent Tribunal to look into procurement complaints.
In the good old days, you tender a Government project. Your company put up the best price. But tender awarded to another company with strong “cable”. Now, you have an avenue to complaint and it will be heard in open “tribunal” (court). You will get your justice!
This will send shivers down the spine of corrupt politicians or officials. Because, once a complaint is taken to the Tribunal, it will be heard openly to the public and media.
There is no way to hide.
However, the opposition is strangely against the bill. They have been in Government before. They know how the system works. They have no interest in reforms.
Truths be told, no politician is so “stupid” to reform this murky procurement. To politicians, the murkier, the better. Safe houses, ceilings will be stashed in cash.
But Anwar reform this fearlessly.
This is real reforms done! 💪🏻
