The hate Ederson is getting is obscene. It has moved past the levels of toxic and hatred. It’s now a serious serious issue. All of these online accounts for some reason believe they can act however they want. They should be held accountable. It is simply disgusting. Death threats and all sorts over a keeper that has won everything for City. Take Ederson out of City and we never would’ve seen the City we have. He’s fundamental to the style of play we’ve operated with for so many years. And his shot stopping isn’t even awful. Yes okay, it’s not his strong suit but it’s not as bad as some are making it out to be. He’s saved us so many times. But regardless, no matter how good or bad Ederson is, it does NOT warrant this response from the online fanbase. This will affect Ederson. We should be encouraging our players, trying to get them back to their best. But no, you aim to knock them down again and again and again until they leave the club. You are SCUM. Without Ederson, the City we know today would simply not exist. He’s revolutionised football. Yes, it’s moving away from that now, but over the last decade, it has been Edersons goalkeeping influence across the globe. So many goalkeepers in the sport regard Ederson as one of the best due to the way he has made goalkeeping require a completely different skill set. Criticism is fair. Hate is not. This? This is beyond that. It is disgusting and damaging and puts a horrible image on our fanbase. We want the club to listen to the fans, we are the club of the people, a club that’s always felt like a family from Sheikh Mansour to the local fan. But social media, and the rise in popularity of City, has brought in some disgusting individuals who think they can say whatever they like and it be without consequences… unfortunately most of the time that is the case. It is heartbreaking and the club will be aware of the abuse. Creating a divide between the loyal fans and the players who do their best for us week in week out. They’re human, they make mistakes and they won’t be good at everything. Ederson has done a brilliant job for what we need. Disgusting and disappointing… the online fanbase now INFESTED with fickle plastics, is ruining what it means to be City. Youre not welcome as part of the club, you don’t know what it truly means to be a blue; you purely chase success. Back Ederson. Get behind him. Support him through this. Don’t know who pumped so much confidence into the vermin on social media. I don’t disagree a new keeper is needed, the style of football is shifting away from Edersons. BUT you don’t treat him like this when he’s one of the main reasons our club has been such a success. 💙💙💙💙
