@edge_of_power Agreed. Not being able to announce any deal with all the energy they control and "insatiable demand" is like having hands and not use them.
I am sure they are in discussion with many, but the time is running out. The AI bubble is inevitably going to pop and bring IREN sub 10.
@Ssaasquatch@CryptoHayes The diff is that you have no way in ZEC to know if the exploit was used. BTC Blockchain is transparent and you can see this. ZEC project might be over now.
@CrypticTrades_ Good observation with the wrong conclusion. Stock goes up when there are sceptics that are sidelined and they finally deploy cash. If everyone is LONG the only direction for the stock is DOWN because everyone who can/want to buy has already bought.
@edge_of_power@treasury_bill@MirantisIT@danroberts0101 Agreed. If IREN is firm on cloud strategy, Mirantis is the way to go.
I just have a suspicion that hyperscalers just want an ssh access to bare metal boxes because they have their own engineers to do the orchestration. They just need someone on site to press power button off/on
@Umbisam Colo is the way to go.
When dust settles in 2028, everyone will realize that the point of data centers was to serve hyperscalers. There is literally no mid size or small size companies who want to train their SOTA LLMs. Hyperscalers have their own software. They are THE cloud.
@treasury_bill@edge_of_power@MirantisIT@danroberts0101 Yes, Mirantis is the right move if IREN wants to pursue cloud. Colocation is probably the best model right now. Because ultimately all these data centers will become major hyperscaler's bitches. If so, hyperscalers have their own software stack.
@edge_of_power@treasury_bill@MirantisIT@danroberts0101 Interesting take.
It all makes sense. Look at home many people are working in Coreweave (1.5k) and Nebius (1.5k) compared to IREN (140). IREN was thinking it can become cloud without software engineers.
@alessandrorisk@crypto_banter@HenrikZeberg Does Henrik know anything? Some mediocre economist who graduated from second tier university. Has he ever predicted anything at all. What's the point of giving him the stage
