My Fable usage is on 89% (on a max plan) but resets in 6 hours. Currently redoing my website to look like it was produced this decade rather than running on an old template on Wordpress. If there is one thing that having Fable has done for me is to modernise everything I do. Likely to port another Obj-C/Storyboards app to SwiftUI tomorrow using Fable.
Fable 5 has done some amazing work in one of my apps, bringing it into this decade with a SwiftUI port and a modern look to my specifications. But it also suggested some amazing new features- quite insightful , which it has duly implemented.and they work. But I am sitting here in a cafe thinking whether I should release these features, they are impressive and graphically pretty - but just overwhelming. I look at the app and go wow! but users might be overwhelmed too. I’m likely to comment them out for a first release, just too much.. or maybe behind a simple button for premium users. I’ve not had this issue before, it would have taken me months to deliver this and I would have decided to not build features I wasn’t going to deliver. Now build is not a bottleneck and I have to withhold built features. I don’t want be overwhelmed by emails from end users who are similarly overwhelmed by the cacophony of new options in the app. This gets a #buildinpublic tag, these here are crazy times.
@adamlyttleapps You are not alone on this one. Going crazy with it. It says until July 7 in the console, unclear whether it is Australian time or a US time zone, maybe more time tomorrow because still July 7 in the US - unclear but will check tomorrow otherwise it will empty my credit card!
Today you can purchase for $150AUD a Claude Max plan for a month which will essentially deliver any app or feature you can think of in minutes. An absolute steal - what you can do in a whole month! Get it while you can, surely the cheapest it will ever be.
This worked very well. Shipped an App Intents addition to an existing app today. Lovely with Siri, and premium gating works well too. It is clear in testing that none of my competition have bothered to implement either.
Add App Intents to existing apps or build new app? There is only one of me. I guess thats why we have AI now. I think the way forward is to ask Opus - "Analyse the content of this app, taking particular note of calls to my API's that return data for display, also note which data is gated for premium users only. Please note the API's may return data that is not displayed by this app, please exclude it as out of scope for this app. Given this data, can you recommend a practical App Intents implementation that will be informative and useful to users, especially with the new iOS 27 Siri implementation, and recommend a way of gating any premium data returned by the API's so that premium end users will be able to query that data also, and non premium users may be encouraged to upgrade?" Clearly I think out loud on X.
@jordibruin I was watching this during the presentation, the presenters swapped in and out every now and then by walking in and out of camera, very sure they are real people - I was looking for the booth where they were located, couldn't see it!
Made an effort to arrive early for the #wwdc keynote - was not disappointed, I sat right at the front, it was moving to see Tim Cook speak before the keynote and after amongst Apple colleagues with folk congratualting him. Sat in row 2 of the Platform State of the Union behind the Apple folk who were on screen, quite an experience. Too many photos taken to sort through.
A satisfying week - I just shipped a fix to Johnny Castaway that has been annoying for weeks - manifested as a hang after several hours. A constant set to 6 that should be set to 10 caused it all! The fix also added missing story elements and graphics! https://t.co/BLGbIGSV3G
The annual migration to Cupertino is soon underway✈️
