@ShejiTechy Currently it's valued roughly the same as it did in 2016. But this time it has 6x revenue just from the core ADAS; REM network; new imaging radar; EyeQ6 chips used in Surround ADAS, SuperVision, Chauffeur; multiple Robotaxi services planned; Mentee robotics. Time will tell.
@jwat_5 Nice quick summary. Another cool point for me was Cloud-Enhanced ADAS is mostly a software upgrade to an existing EyeQ6L program but gross profit/unit is expected to match Surround ADAS. And low OEM investment + potential fleetwide fit could be seen as low hanging fruit by OEMs
@KG1045 At the height of its power in 1279, the Mongol Empire controlled an estimated 25% to 26% of the global population. With an estimated 110 million people out of a total world population of around 400-430 million, it ranks as one of the most populous empires in human history.
@TheUndertakerCH@teslaxander There is no public evidence that Mobileye Drive failed technically or that Verne was dissatisfied with its driving capability.
Their vision only system was tested on a more than 2000km road under various weather conditions, and had a very few interventions.
@jwat_5 But, based on what Elon said, I’d guess it’s unlikely to be FSD. And I think many people are confusing (or want to believe) the pullback from Bosch’s means the ID. Buzz robotaxi effort has failed, even though that is a completely separate initiative.
@jwat_5 It’s not confirmed yet. I’ve seen a lot of hype like this around Mobileye that never came to fruition, so I wouldn’t be surprised if VW ends up partnering with someone else, even though Mobileye makes the most sense to me.
