Recently, our officers received reports of an individual spearfishing within 100 yards of a public beach, which is prohibited. After attempting to contact the spearfisherman from the shore of Pompano Beach, the suspect paddled deeper into the ocean & purposely capsized his canoe in an attempt to hide evidence.

Our officers are out in full force with our law enforcement partners this spring break to keep visitors and residents safe.

Officers will be patrolling to promote safe boating, removing unsafe operators from the water who are boating under the influence, and enforcing Florida law on our beaches.
