Authorities are refusing to charge him as an adult, although it was premeditated.

A 14-year-old Black juvenile was arrested by IMPD for the murder of 23-year-old White IU grad Brett Scrogham.

Brett was shot in the head in a downtown Indianapolis parking garage on May 28 while heading to an Indians game with family.

He passed away on May 30 after just starting his career.

Another young White life lost to thug crime.

Grandmother of Henry Nowak’s killer COMPLAINS that her family are “living in fear” and are considering leaving Southampton but “don't have anywhere else to go.”

Bimla Kaur has complained that her family may never return to their “house again” after her grandson stabbed Nowak to death.

“It's not safe for them to be in their home because it was targeted the other night and it's only a matter of time before it is attacked again…I'm not sure if they'll ever return to that house again.”

The grandmother of Vickrum Digwa has said the family are “living in fear” following outrage over the families involvement which includes the killers mother hiding the knife used to stab Nowak.

“We're all living in fear because we've also had some threats and are worried that we might also get attacked. 

But we've been in this city a long time, our whole extended family is here, and we don't have anywhere else to go.”

If you have time to issue a warning, you have time to make a choice.

By that point, Karmelo Anthony could have walked away from the confrontation. Instead, the situation escalated and Austin Metcalf lost his life.

Then there are the questions many people still have:

If this was truly self-defense, why run?

Why get rid of the knife?

Why ask an officer, "Can I say it was self-defense?"

Most people who act in legitimate self-defense call 911, stay at the scene, cooperate with police, and explain what happened.

Self-defense is about necessity, not retaliation. When there is an opportunity to disengage, jurors have to ask a simple question:

Was deadly force truly the only option?

Those are some of the reasons many people believe this was not a case of self-defense.

People are arriving before the curfew and others are cutting the line. This is affecting public access to limited courtroom seats. Can the court clarify how the line will be managed going forward?”

REPORT: Karmelo Anthony Trial Day Four

Apparently, if you violate a judge’s order and cut in front of others who were in line 30 minutes before you, you will be REWARDED with access to a courtroom that only allows 27 members of the public.

According to Judge Roach’s order, there is a curfew from 11pm to 6am every day for the duration of the trial. The order applies to the ENTIRE Collin County Courthouse campus, including parking lots, sidewalks, green spaces, and any other designated areas.

I have followed this order every day, arriving right at 6am as required by the curfew.

This morning, the first day of opening statements, I arrived at 6am as usual. There were already 20–25 people lined up at the front door. I immediately got in line. Many of them were not secretive about what time they had arrived, and some said they had been there closer to 5am, which is a VIOLATION of the judge’s order.

As I stood there, multiple people arrived and cut directly in front of me. And yes, I will make it clear that they were Karmelo Anthony supporters.

I wish I had said something. But I have done my best to maintain the peace so far, even with the disparaging comments that have been made and the constant line-cutting over the past few days.

I am fully fed up today. The first 27 were selected, and the cut off was 2 people in front of me. If there had not been violations or line cutters, I would be in the courtroom right now.

I understand that Judge Roach runs a tight ship, but he cannot control what he does not know is happening.

The family was brought in. Then the media. Then about a dozen individuals who claimed to be “family members of the Anthony’s,” including Kevin Hayes, Karmelo Anthony’s uncle, who initially spread false rumors that Karmelo had been jumped and that his cell phone had been smashed.

THEN, 27 members of the public were given passes for the remainder of the day.

Several of those individuals deserve to be in the courtroom. But the scales were tipped in favor of Anthony supporters because they cut in line and felt “entitled” to those positions.

I’m not going to hold back about their behavior any longer.

Black people’s support for Karmelo Anthony is further proof that they cannot handle or process taking an L. Its an open and shut case. Karmelo Anthony murdered another human being in cold blood. They have been taught for generations that taking an L is akin to slavery. Thats actually what happened here. Karmelo was in the process of taking an L in public, he was told by a bigger kid he couldn’t be somewhere (embarrassed), and since he’s been programmed to interpret that as being a slave, he pulls out his knife and kills.
