Lord we pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Protect your land and your people from harm. Do a miracle so great, that the enemies of Israel are astounded and cower in fear of your mighty works. We rest on your promises!
Those who strive with you (Israel) shall perish (Isa 41.11)
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses (despises, dishonors, treats with contempt) you (Gen 12.3)
Whoever assails you will fall … no weapon that is formed against you will prosper (Isa 54.15,17)
I will be a wall of fire around her … he who touches you, touches the apple (pupil) of the LORD’s eye (Zech 2.5,8)
Good morning friends.
“My Redemption Song”
Have a great day. ❤️❤️
As I begin a new year and I look at this one close
I know that I've done nothing that would cause this girl to boast
For when I think about the way I handled many things
I know I couldn't live without the One who makes me sing
The One who walks beside me even when I go astray
Who loves me when my heart is cold in every single way
The friend who's closer than a brother and who takes my hand
Whenever I am broken and I lose my way again
The Savior who has given me His perfect righteousness
And sees me covered in His robe even when I'm a mess
The King who sits upon the throne, His rightful, holy place
Where I can come and ask for help, yes, it's the throne of grace
The grace that God put in my heart that made this girl believe
The grace that tells me He is mine and He will never leave
The grace that gives me joy when all I want to do is cry
Yes, grace has given me the faith to know that He's alive
Alive inside this sinner's heart that tells me I belong
And that He'll never let me go, He's my Redemption song
The song He sings to me each day, a perfect melody
That promises that I am His throughout eternity
Yes, as a year comes to a close and another comes
I'll cling to what I know is true, my Jesus and His love
And look to him each moment as this year begins anew
Remembering because of Him, I've nothing left to prove
From my blog:
A Different Kind Of Sinner:
Luke 7:44-48
Then Jesus turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she poured perfume on my feet. Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little."
I remember the first time I read this story. I was a new Christian and was taken aback by this woman's reckless abandon in declaring her love for Jesus. I felt jealous because I knew I would never feel like her. How could I? I'm not, nor have I ever been a prostitute.
In truth, I saw myself as someone who had been forgiven little. Compared to her, I stood on solid ground. I needed forgiveness, but from my perspective, my sins were just not that sinful.
Something inside of me wanted to be her. To feel that intense love for Jesus. I wanted it more than anything. It's not that I didn't love Him. Of course, I did, but I knew I was more like Simon in this story, and it broke my heart.
Each time I came back to it, I felt those same pangs. Then one day, I saw it. Jesus wanted Simon to be jealous, and he wanted me to be jealous too. Jealous of a prostitute who knows how sinful she is, and how much she has been forgiven. Jealous of a sinful woman who is so recklessly and passionately grateful that she couldn't help but make a spectacle of herself in her display of gratefulness and adoration for the one who had made her clean.
God had shown me something profound, but I still saw myself as a different kind of sinner. It wasn't until I was confronted by His perfect Law and His demand that I be sinless and blameless in every way that I understood that I was just as guilty as she was.
When I realized that God's love and acceptance of me aren't based on my virtue but on Christ's perfection and that when my life is measured against His, I am no better than the worst sinner, my heart was changed forever.
Today, when I read this story, I am no longer jealous of this sinful woman. How can I be? I am her. But there is one thing I do desire, that she has, and it's that the words Jesus spoke of her be spoken of me, "Her many sins have been forgiven as her great love has shown."
