I certified!!! Last year was absolutely insane. I put everything else in my life on hold, but the hard work paid off. Thanks to all who put up with me being a hermit, to my colleagues/cohort for support & feedback. I’m a #NBCT!!! #librarymedia
I've just learned that all secondary #librarians in @evergreenps (here in WA) were notified at 1:00pm today that their positions were being cut & media "aids" would be running the libraries moving fwd. Here's how to contact EPS to let them know this move will harm students. ⬇️
@LMS_United@ala I'm inferring this survey was not written with school librarians in mind--multiple questions provide evidence for that inference. Understanding that ALA encompasses all librarian subgroups, I would like to see language that reflects our worldview.
@teachinaTARDIS That’s what I do! I made that choice because when students come to me asking for graphic novels, what they typically want are the stories. The GN non-fiction is stored with the content area so that when someone wants to learn about a particular topic, GNs are there as a choice.
@erinentrada Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This book is still making me think, weeks and weeks after finishing. It’s both beautiful and informative.
So much going on in this lovely book from @RJPalacio! Part historical fiction, part mystery, part ghost story, & completely wonderful! So different from the Wonder world, but the same sense of poignancy and depth.
I need some help #librarytwitter! I have a @DonorsChoose grant that’s getting a little stale. What do you do to get your grants funded after the initial round of donations immediately after posting?? #SchoolLibrarian#librarylife
Today I was awarded my second substantial grant ($2300!!) of 21-22. This one for coding/robotics resources. Credit to @abmack33, @LMS_United for getting me started. Big thanks to @SchLibAdvocate & Christie Kaaland. Their AASL webinar improved my grant writing skills dramatically!
