Why wouldn't anyone want all ballots counted as long as they were postmarked or dropped off by election day? It's just like filing your taxes by April 15th. Postmarked by that date is legitimate.
The Supreme Court must be reformed or dismantled at this point. It's a rogue body filled with 6 right wing extremists who want to replace democracy with a white Christian King. If a politician doesn't support Court reform then they arent the leaders for this moment. Step aside.
Public corruption, utterly obscene, at a scale we’ve never seen. Why do they do it? Bcuz they don’t believe their supporters give a damn about it, and they know the Republican-led Congress won’t do a damn thing about it.
The Slaughter case, overturning precedent, returns us to a spoils system where a president can “clean house” every four years, destroying our professional, independent civil service.
This case will not be talked about much, but today the Supreme Court abolished the independence of many federal agencies. It is a decision that will grant the President more power than a king.
Today’s decision in Slaughter will destroy the independence of the Merit Systems Protection Board, which will have a cascading effect on all federal employees, who have been free from political interference for 150 years. The spoils system is back, baby!
BREAKING: Jared Kushner will brief members of Congress by phone about the Iran peace deal.
Kushner is not an elected official, does not currently hold a Senate-confirmed government position, and yet is being brought into one of the most consequential foreign policy conversations facing the country.
Congress has a responsibility to ask hard questions, demand transparency, and make sure the American people; not private networks, are represented in decisions of war and peace.
Justice Sotomayor read her dissent from the bench.
It reads in part: "Today, this Court undoes centuries of political practice and concludes that all three branches of Government have been acting in open defiance of the Constitution all this time. Its conclusion is wrong."
…
"In holding otherwise, the Court gives the President a power unknown even to the English Crown against which the Founders revolted, elevating him above his once-coequal branches by transforming a duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed into a license to act in defiance of those very laws."
BREAKING: In a landmark 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court rules that "geofence warrants," which allow law enforcement to collect sweeping smartphone location data over a broad area, constitute an "unreasonable search" and violate the Fourth Amendment.
Very happy to be back on @ESPNRadio where it all started, and extremely happy to be doing the show again with @mikegolicjr…See you all starting Monday August 3rd 10-noon ET on espnradio!!
Roberta Kaplan, attorney for E. Jean Carroll:
"Today's Supreme Court decision affirms once and for all the jury's unanimous verdict that President Donald J. Trump sexually assaulted and defamed E. Jean Carroll. His multiple efforts to appeal that verdict have all failed and today's ruling ends his quest to avoid accountability for his actions."
