Morning. The last 48 hours of Codex and ChatGPT Work have been intense! Three important updates:
- Temporarily removing the 5 hour usage limit restriction for all Plus, Business and Pro plans
- Rolling out changes that will make GPT 5.6 Sol more efficient across the board and that will be reflected in less usage being used so that it can take you further. Exact impact to be quantified and shared
- We hit 6M active users, and are landing a usage reset in the next hour
Go do things
hey donuts at openai, listen up
codex app = the developer studio FOR DEVELOPERS, we know it exists, we use it for dev, it keeps the diff and the other dev-y features... you were fucking winning you absolute hubcaps
chatgpt desktop app = for normies to chat AND to work (switch between chat and work)
2 apps is better than this mess you made

Whoever makes AI self-diffusing in organizations will race ahead. Ideally you just give people access, and the AI figures out how to be maximally useful to them. It feels like the Codex team understands this. Features like Chronicle and Record & Replay are a start. Perhaps we get to a point where you just install Codex, it watches you for a week, then just creates a bunch of custom skills and offloads your grunt work.
@teortaxesTex As we are getting closer to the end game either labs will start working together, or people will jump labs. In the end there will be only one. Demis fortold this in one of his interviews. Let's see how this plays out.
