@Gtwy@sam_d_1995 When I was younger I owned a motorcycle and a sports car. Despite my desire to go fast, I only got like three tickets over five years. At one point I finally realized it wasn't worth the hassle and simply made the choice to stop speeding and haven't gotten a ticket in 15 years.
@heysamir_@PatrickHeizer "At Chime, one key stat we noted was that ~70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck"
really weird flex to note that you use an easily debunked statistic
@StatisticUrban Is consumer sentiment forward looking, though? For example, I might be doing well but I might also be concerned of an economic crash in the near future, so if the specific question doesn't exclude forward looking predictions then I'm not sure this is 100% correct.
@TomWigand@GregoryKBovino > 2) Enforce immigration law against employers who employ illegals;
you're basically asking republicans to go on a mass campaign of arresting republicans lol
If the Cato Institute comes out swinging for open borders, more free trade that hollows out our industries, or against any real border enforcement , take the opposite position immediately.
Thatโs not ideology, thatโs pattern recognition.
Catoโs brand of libertarianism works great in theory and on a spreadsheet. In the real world, it consistently pushes policies that dissolve national cohesion and hand the country over to whoever shows up.
Want to keep an actual country with a culture, an economy, and a future?
Simple rule: Catoโs for it, we do the opposite. Works every time
