Had an interesting conversation with a high-level college 🏀 player.
After a grueling aerobic-based preseason, he was in the best shape of his life.
3 minutes into the first game, he felt out of shape.
Endurance work may not prepare us for game speed.
Shedeur Sanders was expected to be a first-round pick.
Instead, he slipped to the 5th.
Is it a failure, a reflection of the Deion show, a humbling...
There’s a deeper lesson here—one that speaks to adversity, resilience, parenting, and what real success actually looks like.
Let’s dig in.
Folks need to do their Homework.. The Saints had a drastic change over the offseason over 25 players transferred out and they brought in a new Coaching Staff they had to play their D1 Schedule because you cant just scratch your schedule clean every year if they would of had a D3/D4 Schedule and gone 0-10 no way they make the playoffs . D3 was not a cake walk for them they were in 3 Close game games and pulled out the victories .
Final : Saints 13 San Pasqual 7
Ron Caragher wins a Section Championship in his first season as Head Coach . The Saints become the first team in San Diego Section History to go winless in the regular season and win a CIF Championship their Second consecutive Section Championship.

Athletes, please STOP training like bodybuilders/powerlifters
That is, stop structuring training around:
- “back day.”
- “Squats today.”
- “Monday is chest.”
Build your training around motor unit recruitment.
Design it around outputs & adaptions like speed, power & strength
This is the single most powerful (and misunderstood) supplement.
It's dirt cheap, scientifically proven, and can transform your brain function.
Here's what 99% of people get wrong about it:
Elite student-athletes:
⚡️Show up early & stay late
⚡️Are coachable & remain coachable no matter the situation
⚡️Work hard, stay humble, & help their teammates
⚡️Disciplined in their studies and their sport
⚡️Own up to mistakes & accept constructive criticism
⚡️Eat well on rest days & never miss meals in training or competition days
⚡️Never make excuses or blame others for their actions
⚡️Drink water and hydrate instead of using sugary energy drinks
⚡️Show up to class & get respectable grades because sports come second to their studies
⚡️Trust their coaches and leadership to lead them to victory
It’s not the discipline or commitment that’s difficult. It’s not knowing if your discipline or commitment will result in anything. Not all hard work ends with a reward. That’s just life. But if you don’t work, it for sure won’t work.
If you are cramping regularly then stop loading yourself with just
-Water
-Sports drinks
-Electrolytes ad nauseam
and start looking at
-Carbohydrate intake
-Medications (esp adderall, SSRIs)
-Magnesium/Potassium/Calcium intake, relative to Sodium
-Fitness levels/workload
-Sleep
-EtOH
Fatigue is a big reason for cramping (look deeper)
Average athletes will spend thousands on combines, camps & showcases
They’ll go, not get any benefit (because they’re average) & keep spending money
All instead of investing (less money) in quality training to improve
The vicious cycle of mediocrity goes round & round
Most people should be able to get into a deep squat.
But sedentary lifestyles and constant sitting has limited our ability to access full hip mobility.
Here’s the most common reasons why you can’t squat deep + how to improve it.
It’s far easier to get a 9th grader strong that spent middle school developing coordination in different contexts than it is to get a strong 9th grader to move well.
A made that mistake early.
10 habits you're probably doing every day that damage your health:
• Sitting all day
• Mouthbreathing
• Drinking calories
• Drinks with dinner
• Blue light near bed
• Always being online
• Caffeine before water
• Screenlight before sunlight
• Refined carbs for breakfast
BS coaches have athletes do to just take up time
1. Ladder drills
2. Burpees
3. Wall sits
4. Crunches or ab variations
5. Gassers
6. Endless hurdle hops
If you see practices or sessions mostly made of these, you have coach who has zero idea what they’re doing
5 pushups are better than no pushups
A 10 min walk is better than no walking
A short workout is better than no workout
Start small
Progress appropriately
Maintain consistency
Win
Any sprint coach who dismisses the importance of arm action in sprinting has never worked with kids new to sprinting.
Their elbows stay bent, they swing their elbows wide, and their hands never cross their hips.
If range of motion is limited, there’s no stretch reflex.

You’re NOT eating nearly enough PROTEIN and it’s killing you
This trash article (riddled with false info) cites 50 gRaMs as the average threshold based on the RDA for protein (0.8g/kg) which is MUCH TOO LOW
One of the biggest culprits of poor health status of Americans/humans around the world is due to EXCESSIVE carb + fat intake (too much hyper palatable /UPFs) and LOW protein intake
