I used to be a pretty heavy claude code user. Recently (after @rafalwilinski told me to) I switched to Codex.
What’s the solution for: 1) lack of official mobile app 2) lack of chrome connector?
@southpolesteve Hah good question! Sometimes it's just quicker to understand the logic (or check some value) by reading the file yourself than asking the robot. Maybe I haven't fully gone over to the dark side yet.
I switched from Cursor to Claude Code desktop a couple of weeks ago (mostly because my quota kept running out so quickly) and the only thing I'm missing is a basic file explorer. You know, where you hit CMD+P, search for a file, and see its contents.
Every opus release follows the same script: week one & two it's a god tier model that one shots complex tasks, remembers every detail, stays in scope. By week threeish or a month later it feels like a completely different model.
I love Opus, genuinely my favorite model line. But every time Anthropic does something post launch that alters quality. And no, it's not quantization like some people theorize but SOMETHING is clearly changing.
We desperately need tools to measure model quality over time, the degradation is real. Inference changes, service, system prompt updates, whatever it is it's not placebo.
what advice you wish you could give your early career self?
i'll go first: your manager is not so busy they don't want to be bothered
at all times, your manager wants you to ping them more, ask them more questions, know what's up, unblock you and not wait until 1:1 to do so
