@washghost1 Boston typically has a significant number of European tourists in the summer, though admittedly not so many at once from one country. The airfare is typically cheaper than other US cities.
@BeschlossDC I was six. There was a lot of excitement in the months leading up to July 4. I remember ringing a hand bell on the day itself. In hindsight I realize that I wasn’t following Entebbe, the other major news event of the day.
There’s nothing remotely like that excitement this year.
@grahamformaine Netanyahu doesn’t fund AIPAC; Americans do. And in attacking AIPAC you are using a dog whistle against American Jews, dismissing them as foreigners, refusing to recognize that Jews can be Americans. And in so doing you only encourage more American Jews to donate to Collins.
@StopAntisemites Juxtapositing an antisemitic cartoon with text purportedly (and I think plausibly) from HIAS is particularly offensive. It’s not hard to criticize ICE without scapegoating Jews.
@MatthewNouriel@PrideInKY Pride has fractured into two movements. The smaller movement is Dana International Pride, and I’m an ally. The larger movement is Ernst Röhm Pride, and I want nothing to do with them.
@Angry_Staffer Dubai is closer to Iran than Israel, and Iran has more short-range missiles that can reach Dubai but not Israel and few longer-range missiles that can reach Israel.
@LakotaMan1 I’m answering a slightly different question than the one you asked, but most Jews would describe Stephen Miller using the Yiddish term “shande far di goyim,” literally meaning a disgrace before the nations, figuratively an embarrassment in front of the neighbors.
