حضرت علی کی شاندار زندگی کو سیلیبریٹ کرنا چاہیے۔ لیکن شیعوں نے اپنی روایت کے مطابق اس موقع کو بھی غم کا تہوار بنالیا۔
امام حسین مظلوم تھے۔ محرم میں ان کا غم منانا چاہیے۔ لیکن علی کا غم منانے کا سوچ کر عجیب نہیں لگتا؟
حضرت علی کی سوانح کو مودت یا تعصب، رافضی یا ناصبی ہوئے بغیر پڑھیں۔ کیا کامیاب زندگی تھی۔ بچپن سے آخری سانس تک بلا کا بے خوف آدمی۔ رسول کا پہلا جانثار۔ کفار مکہ کو للکارنے والا۔ ہجرت کی خطرے والی شب رسول کے بستر پر سونے والا۔ ہمیشہ میدان جنگ کی پہلی صف میں نظر آنے والا۔
میں معجزوں کی روایات کو شک کی نگاہ سے دیکھتا ہوں۔ لیکن ایسا بہادر، سخی، منصف اور زبان داں کوئی اور تھا نہیں تو مافوق الفطرت واقعات گھڑنے کی کیا ضرو��ت ہے۔
بدر، احد، خندق، خیبر، صفین اور نہروان میں سیکڑوں سر کاٹنے والے کے سر پر تلوار لگی تو آپ روئیں گے؟ جس نے اس ضرب کے بعد خود فتح کا اعلان کیا، اس کا ماتم کریں گے؟ یاعلی مدد کہتے کہتے ہائے علی کہیں گے؟
حضرت علی نے کہا تھا کہ انھوں نے دنیا کو طلاق دے دی۔ یقینا جنت ان کی محبوبہ تھی۔ محبوبہ سے ملنے کے لیے دولہا سہرا باندھتا ہے۔ علی نے لہو کے موتیوں والا سہرا پہنا۔
قومیں بہادروں کی یاد مناتی ہیں، غم نہیں مناتیں۔ ان کی زندگی کو سیلیبریٹ کرتی ہیں، موت پر ماتم نہیں کرتیں۔ کبھی علی کے نام کے ساتھ موت کہہ کر دیکھیں، الفاظ اجنبی لگیں گے۔

It might sound unbelievable, but every person on Earth could physically fit inside a cube just 1 kilometer high, wide, and deep.

That’s because the combined volume of all humans is less than half the volume of a cube measuring 1 km on each side.

For context, the volume of all humans is 4.7×10^8 meters. While the volume of a cube that high is about 1×10^9 meters.

Of course, this tightly packed cube wouldn’t be livable or humane, but it offers a powerful visual to grasp how small our physical footprint is compared to the size of the planet.

Humanity, despite its massive impact on Earth’s ecosystems, takes up surprisingly little space in terms of sheer volume. While our presence shapes climate, landscapes, and biodiversity, our actual physical volume could fit comfortably within a city block-sized cube.

It’s a humbling reminder of the scale of Earth—and how our influence is outsized not by body mass, but by choices and systems.

I have been listening to these Indian claims that 95% of India’s defense budget is directed at China and that Pakistan is merely a subset of that challenge! This reveals a deeper strategic hubris in the Indian strategic and policy community than I had initially accounted for.

The May 2025 crisis suggests otherwise.

Ok, let’s say, IF in fact, Pakistan is seen as a proxy front in India’s China-centric posture, then May 2025 was not just a crisis with Pakistan, it was a test run for India’s capabilities against a China-style adversary. And by that metric alone, the results should be sobering for New Delhi.

Pakistan fought back with a kill-chain-enabled air denial strategy, downed six Indian jets, imposed costs without triggering nuclear escalation, and effectively controlled the narrative in parts of the international community. If this is how India performs against its SUBSET, then the credibility of its China-facing posture deserves serious scrutiny.

More dangerously, I believe that this mindset of subordinating Pakistan in India's strategic calculus risks underestimating Pakistan’s independent deterrence logic, its evolving warfighting doctrine, and its external alignments, including with China. It fuels the illusion that escalation with Pakistan is manageable or compartmentalizable, when in reality, it risks drawing in China and destabilizing two fronts simultaneously.

If India is preparing for China by testing itself on Pakistan, it may be fighting the wrong war with the wrong assumptions and has reached the height of self-deception.
