🚨 BREAKING: Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been asked for his thoughts on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal project.
“I’ve watched them closely. This Arsenal side reminds me of the importance of patience. Too many clubs dismiss managers before the foundations are properly built. Arteta has built more than just a squad—he has built a team. Every signing serves a purpose. They don’t chase headlines; they recruit players who fit their footballing identity.
People laughed at the process a few years ago. They’re certainly not laughing now.
Having spent years trying to stop Arsenal under Arsène Wenger, I can tell you this version is becoming a serious problem for the rest of the Premier League. At this rate, English football could be entering another Arsenal era. Football has a funny way of rewarding those who ignore the noise.”
🗣️ Arsene Wenger statement on Gianni Infantino’s failed FFE plans. “The recent events at FIFA deserve some clarity from my side.
“At FIFA, I am the Chief of Global Football Development.
“Together with my team, I oversee the data analysis of the game, the FIFA online training centre, the development of youth education through 60 academies across 60 countries where they are most needed, and youth competitions around the world.
“In addition, I am a technical adviser to IFAB.
“I was not involved in this strategic plan and first became aware of the project through media reports.
“The decision to withdraw the project was absolutely necessary and beyond question, because I firmly believe in an independent FIFA that serves our game with commitment, transparency, and integrity.”

Chelsea knew Arsenal were the main competition for Morgan Rogers - and the Premier League champions seemed to be in a great position to sign him. England team-mates Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were part of a charm offensive to convince Rogers to join. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard also spoke to Rogers, as well as Mikel Arteta.
But Villa and Arsenal were always some distance apart in terms of price. Arsenal had a clear valuation of Rogers: £80million. They were determined to stick to it, despite Villa’s insistence on attaining a record fee for a British player.
Rogers had other concerns. Whereas Chelsea had made it clear he was their main choice, Arsenal’s links with Julian Alvarez, Bradley Barcola and Eli Junior Kroupi over several weeks sowed a seed of doubt in the player’s camp despite Arsenal’s insistence he was their No 1 priority.
Rogers felt more love from Chelsea when they made their move.
For their part, Arsenal maintain that any deal for Rogers was always contingent on the right price point. When Chelsea made their move, Arsenal were contacted to see if they would be willing to match the £117million offer. They declined, choosing to focus on alternative targets.
