They MUST report with ALL the requirements indicated. Also note that ONLY the UPDF technical recruitment teams have the SOLE authority to recruit anyone into the UPDF as per the recruitment criteria. The role of the local councils, district and city authorities is to ensure that shortlisted candidates as DISPLAYED on the UPDF PORTAL are adult Ugandans without a criminal record, and are residents of the area in which they applied.

I was glad to launch the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo at Munyonyo today. Uganda remains one of the most unique tourism destinations because of our favourable climate, rich culture, peace and natural beauty.

Regarding Ebola, there is no cause for alarm. We are applying targeted measures and continuing to work scientifically to keep people safe while keeping our economy open.

As our economy grows towards upper-middle-income status, we shall also improve the tourism experience, including friendlier visa arrangements to attract more visitors. I therefore welcome the world to come and explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Regarding #Uganda, the Ministry of Health has not been engaged on the establishment of the treatment centres referred to here, and we are therefore not aware of where they may have been set up within the country.

We continue to affirm that Uganda has so far registered only two imported Ebola cases: one fatality and one patient currently responding well to treatment under close medical care. There are no local infections and the country remains safe.
