Sending my thoughts to the families who lost their loved ones in the road accident that occurred yesterday at Bobi Trading Centre, Omoro District, along the highway to Gulu. I extend condolences to them and wish a quick recovery to those who survived with injuries.
We owe it to ourselves to make our roads safer through better infrastructure and proper maintenance, otherwise these recurring tragedies have become too normal! May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.
Once again, I urge police/ security agencies to keep law and order in a non-violent and non-partisan manner during this campaign period.
It's unrealistic to ban processions of supporters. Political rallies are not prayer meetings to which worshippers go calmly. Political rallies are about excitement. And with Uganda's public transport (bodaboda) it's unrealistic to expect supporters to move to campaign venues quietly. Ensure supporters don't harm others, but let them be.
Bullets; tear gas; dogs! These make the Pearl of Africa bleed! CPM
Yesterday as these shameless men, belonging to the military and police pounced on one of our supporters and clobbered him in full view of cameras! Keep your phone cameras rolling- there will be accountability for all these crimes against humanity. Justice may delay, but it eventually arrives.

JUST IN: Uganda's security forces accuse German Ambassador Mathias Schauer of "undiplomatic practices" allegedly linked to rebel activity.
In a statement, the UPDF's Acting Director Defence Public Information, Chris Magezi, says the ambassador's actions breach the 1961 Vienna Convention and vows diplomatic follow-up. #NTVNews
The latest statement by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces claiming to “monitor rebel activities” is yet another calculated attempt by the @KagutaMuseveni regime to justify its tightening grip on power. These fear-mongering tactics are not about national security—they are designed to criminalize dissent, intimidate political opponents, and silence a generation demanding change.
Uganda’s young population—the majority—continues to be ignored and betrayed. Their aspirations for justice, opportunity, and democratic leadership are met not with reform, but with violence. Abductions, torture, and enforced disappearances have become the regime’s trademark. This is not governance—it is state terror.
The ongoing persecution of @HEBobiwine and the National Unity Platform is emblematic of the regime’s desperation. From planting guns in his hotel room to slapping him with treason charges, to launching an endless barrage of state-funded propaganda—every effort to destroy him politically has failed. Because truth and people power cannot be buried.
This military-backed regime has shut down every peaceful path to democratic transition. It has criminalized organizing, weaponized the judiciary, and targeted journalists and activists with impunity. Its gaslighting of the international community—suggesting that it is under threat while it is the primary source of repression—is a dangerous and cynical deception.
Western diplomats and international allies must not be complicit. Turning a blind eye to these abuses is not neutrality—it is endorsement. The world must stand with the people of Uganda, not with those who abduct and torture them.
Democracy is not a threat. It is the answer.

Honored to attend the inaugural Mass and meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
With 343 million people facing acute hunger globally, his call for peace and compassion is a vital reminder: feeding the hungry isn’t just aid—it’s a moral imperative.
Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery.
The inauguration of the pope is a hugely important moment for Catholics around the world.
I warmly welcome Pope Leo XIV to the role and wish him the very best as he leads the Catholic Church into this new chapter.
Joe Biden is my friend. Joe Biden served this nation with his all, and the way he’s been treated is abhorrent.
Mr. President, I sincerely hope you get well soon, and I appreciate your kindness everyday.
