THE USEA REGIONAL SERVICE DAY ( CENTRAL CLUSTER)
When we talk about heroes, we often forget to recognize the heroes of community service.
On heroes day, over 2,000 students interacted with more than 40 Central Cluster alumni from diverse professional backgrounds at St. Julian High School for a powerful session of mentorship, inspiration, and career guidance. Through sharing their personal journeys, lessons learned, and experiences, these alumni helped shape the aspirations of tomorrow’s leaders.
Special appreciation goes to our Guest of Honour, Eng @RonaldBalimwezo, the Mayor of Kampala City, whose journey embodies resilience, discipline, growth, and service. His words of wisdom, engaging conversations, and meaningful interactions left a lasting impact on the students and inspired them to pursue their dreams with confidence and purpose.
The conversations, connections, and aspirations sparked today are helping build a generation of young African leaders ready to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
And as for the football match, we are still not sure whether we mentored the students or they mentored us. Either way, it was time well spent, filled with laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.

DID YOU ATTEND OUR VISION BOARD AND GOAL SETTING 2026 🎉
Over the weekend, we hosted the USEA community and friends at the American Center Kampala for the 2026 Vision Board and Goal Setting Session, a powerful start to the year focused on clarity, alignment, and intentional action. Guest Speaker @DNKibuuka , facilitator @HasfaMago , and host @JoelBasoga guided participants through creating value driven vision boards, setting goals across all eight spheres of life, and turning vision into daily habits supported by systems, discipline, and accountability.
Key lessons from the session included the importance of identifying non-negotiable core values, protecting your #glassballs (what you can never afford to drop), and ensuring that motivation is backed by structure and consistent action. Participants learned that dreams only become reality when vision, action, and discipline work together, and that alignment with one’s unique journey creates sustainable growth, fulfillment, and measurable progress.
The session reaffirmed USEA’s commitment to fostering intentional growth, collaboration, and impact among Uganda’s exchange alumni. With quarterly review sessions planned throughout 2026, the network is helping members turn vision into reality.

The United States Government and Government of Uganda today signed a landmark five-year, $2.3 billion bilateral health cooperation MOU under the 🇺🇸 #AmericaFirst Global Health Strategy and @USForeignAssist - advancing a shared commitment to save lives, strengthen systems, and promote country-led sustainability. @MinofHealthUG
🔊At the signing, #AmbPopp emphasized: "This agreement marks a significant shift toward self-reliance - through strong local health systems, clear performance metrics, and a foundational commitment to global health security to stop outbreaks before they threaten Uganda, the United States, and the world."
🔊🇺🇬 Minister of Finance (@mofpedU) Matia Kasaija affirmed: "This collaboration will not only deliver disease-specific results, but also strengthen Uganda’s national systems, institutions, and health workforce. Our commitment to increased domestic financing reflects our responsibility to sustain these gains."

The @USAlumniUganda and #AmbPopp welcomed the recent 🇺🇸 @StateDept exchange participants back to Uganda this weekend. The #USEAHomecoming brought together 400+ alumni at @MotivUG to network, enjoy entertainment, and celebrate personal and professional milestones together. We are proud of all the work our #ExchangeAlumni are doing in their communities and beyond. 🎉
What a privilege to be tired from work you once begged the universe for. what a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. what a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose. what a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for.
Together, We can welcome new Life with Love. You can make a direct impact.
No amount is too small. A gift of even 1k or 5k will help us reach our goal and bring comfort to a mother who needs it most.
