-- Israel–Uganda Relations---
Nearly fifty years after Operation Entebbe, the popular Chief of Defence Forces of the Pearl of Africa, Uganda, announced the establishment of a statue of Yoni.
The heroic Operation Entebbe served as a lesson for Israel and for the entire world. To Israel, it conveyed the message: "We will never leave an Israeli behind, nor even a Jew who is not an Israeli citizen."
To the world, it delivered another message: "By wise counsel you shall wage war" (Proverbs 24:6) is not merely a slogan associated with Israel's mysterious intelligence agency, the Mossad; it is also a distinctly Israeli and Jewish way of thinking and acting.
The Mishnah in Sanhedrin (4:5): "Whoever saves a single life is considered as if he has saved an entire world."
The wheels of history never cease to surprise the world. The waters of the vast and enchanting Lake Victoria have never ceased to provide peace, tranquility, and life.
As part of one of history's remarkable surprises, the popular commander of the Ugandan military announced in March 2026 the construction of a statue of Yoni.
Throughout Jewish history there have been many heroes, but these two brothers deserve special recognition.
The first is Yoni Netanyahu—the talented elder brother, a commander who never knew fear.
The second is his brother, Benjamin Netanyahu, who, like his elder brother, fought on the battlefield. Yet he fought not only on the battlefield but also in the arena of leadership during what many regard as the most decisive war in modern Jewish history.
Both gave everything they could give.
Both share a unique connection to Uganda.
Yoni came to rescue Jews who had been taken hostage by Palestinian and German terrorists, who were aided by the hostile and terror-supporting Ugandan regime of Idi Amin.
Over the years, Uganda's leadership invested heavily in developing the "Pearl of Africa," a phrase that has become synonymous with the nation's promise and potential.
Through the joint efforts of Uganda's courageous military leadership and President Yoweri Museveni, Uganda strengthened its position as a rising African economic, security, and diplomatic power.
Relations between Israel and Uganda continued to grow, both publicly and through cooperation behind the scenes.
After firmly warning Tehran, saying, "I offer them a piece of free advice: never threaten us again," the message was received loud and clear.
The friendship between Israel and Uganda, particularly between Israel and Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, continued to deepen. In April 2026, he announced his intention to visit the Land of Israel.
The Book of Genesis states: "I will bless those who bless you."
Those who bless the people of Israel are themselves blessed.
Many would see this as one explanation for Uganda's economic, security, and diplomatic success, and for the achievements of General Muhoozi, who has played a significant role in the country's development.
May you be blessed.

@SSssebunya@mkainerugaba That's him, 100% simple and natural. Rain comes from God and rain is a blessing to us. Glad that the next CIC was on ground as it was raining knowledge and wisdom while other self seekers held their umbrellas high. Nothing will ever stand our way. @mkainerugaba is the next CIC
Nothing can deter him from championing the interests of ordinary people. That is the hallmark of a truly great leader.
Long live CDF Gen @mkainerugaba!

@kakensaug@mkainerugaba Uganda's God given gift.
We truly appreciate his works and are eagerly waiting for a cleansed Uganda under his leadership. Come rain come shine. He is the next CIC
Mr. Muganga Lawrence was not rejected by the committee for being a Munyarwanda, a narrative i see some people so deceptively selling. We have other leaders who are banyarwanda who were approved & have been approved in the past. Hon . Aisha Ssekindi and Dianah Mutasingwa were approved yet they are Banyarwanda but Ugandan citizens.
Muganga was not approved after he denied holding a Rwandan passport, but the Committee investigations confirmed he holds 3 passports: Ugandan, Canadian and Rwandan. Why was he denying it? Therefore, the claim that he was rejected because of being a munyarwanda is totally false, misleading & dangerous.
