Without a doubt, Direct is one of the most successful ONC efforts. From inception, and continuing thru today, Direct messaging is the easiest way for healthcare providers on different EHRs to easily exchange clinical records, attachments, images, and unstructured notes.
As of 2023, #Direct is the most popular method among non-Federal acute care hospitals for sending information to other orgs. Read about the progress the Direct Standard® has made over the past decade & how it continues to shape interoperability: https://t.co/ahCn3OTNiE #HealthIT
The authors of a new Case Study demonstrate that large language models with interoperable electronic health record data can perform abstractions for complex quality measures that are accurate, consistent, timely, and scalable. Read the study: https://t.co/rrIJLWhQrI

@B_Madden4@healthapiguy No doubt! Brendan's always got the goods on interop. I was specifically interested in your perspective on the hospital-view of the space.
This is such a terrible tragedy and it unfortunately supports some very damning data. Black women are 3x more likely to die in childbirth than their white peers, and while economic disparities are an issue, it is public health crisis largely created by the fact Black women are often mistreated in the health care industry.
