I am a physicist and I work as engineer for EPFL. I love music and software development. My most recent project: a web app for publishing seminars and lectures.
@nearcyan I still use Firefox both on osx and android and don't see any reason for switching because it works well. Also it syncs bookmarks between devices and have a working inspector for devs.
@ryanflorence The l'est type of css is simply giving up with css and get back to the time when we used to embed style in html tags.
But the real issue is that html is a document model which is no longer adapted to modern js-react-style apps. We should revert to widgets like in flutter.
A bug I see in nearly every web app: If someone saves a stale record, it overwrites the newer DB record. 😬
Solution:
1. Provide 'updated' time with each GET
2. Require 'updated' when sending a POST/PUT
3. If 'updated' doesn't match the DB, return an HTTP 409 (conflict)
@GioB1974 A me interesserebbe.
We spent $3,201,564.24 on cloud in 2022 at @37signals, mostly AWS. $907,837.83 on S3. $473,196.30 on RDS. $519,959.60 on OpenSearch. $123,852.30 on Elasticache. This is with long commits (S3 for 4 years!!), reserved instances, etc. Just obscene. Will publish full accounting soon.
