2367 kgs EOS-05 successfully placed by GLSV in orbit. It will be India's first dedicated earth imaging satellite from a geostationary orbit that can see anywhere in the Indian subcontinent at 40m "stated" resolution ;)

Now ISRO must regularly post one non-sensitive image of interest from India. For a start, point it at the glacier collapse area and release the latest images.

She needs a big applause for what India has pulled with a 7.8% growth during one of the toughest global economic climate year.

She has delivered consistent growth for India, maneuvering India through multiple crises, while keeping inflation low and reducing deficit.

She just doesn't get enough credit for what she has done. In fact, she gets hate and mockery mostly. I think just because she's a woman.

They keep parroting "high tax" "high inflation" as if everything was lower before. But the truth is, they were much higher and she has brought all down (taxes, deficit, NPAs, and inflation) while keeping growth good.

1919. A dying man in England writes a 2 page paper and quietly invents a category of prime numbers that would only get named 90 years later.

Everyone knows the number 1729, the "taxicab number," the one G.H. Hardy mentioned, that Ramanujan instantly recognized as the smallest number expressible as the sum of two cubes in two different ways.

It is the most famous Ramanujan fact on Earth. Ironically, 1729 is not even prime, it factors cleanly into 7 × 13 × 19.

In 1845, a French mathematician named Joseph Bertrand had guessed without proof that for any number n greater than 1, there is always at least one prime number hiding somewhere between n and 2n.

It took until 1850 for Chebyshev to actually prove it, using heavy, complicated mathematics.

Ramanujan, working from Cambridge, produced something far simpler: a short, elegant proof of the same result using nothing more advanced than properties of the Gamma function, a proof so clean it is taught today as the simple way to prove Bertrand's postulate.

Then, almost as an afterthought, he went further than anyone had asked him to.

At the very end of that same 2 page paper, Ramanujan did not stop at proving the original claim.

He derived a striking generalization: not just that one prime exists between n and 2n, but that you could guarantee 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 primes packed into that same interval, as long as n was large enough. And he worked out exactly how large "large enough" needed to be, for each count.

Flip that logic around, and you get a brand-new sequence of numbers entirely, the smallest thresholds at which the count of primes between x and x/2 first hits 1, then 2, then 3, and onward. Ramanujan computed the 1st five himself: 2, 11, 17, 29, 41.

It sat quietly inside a two page 1919 paper, cited occasionally by number theorists, doing real mathematical work in the background, until 2009, when American mathematician Jonathan Sondow formally studied the sequence, proved further properties about it, and finally gave it a name in a paper published in the American Mathematical Monthly: Ramanujan primes.

90 years.....

A category of prime numbers with genuine, still active research behind it, used today in refining our understanding of how densely primes cluster together sitting inside one of Ramanujan's papers the entire time, essentially unnamed and unclaimed, while the world kept talking about 1729 instead.
