@FOX9 What does anyone expect when they don’t hold criminals accountable? They aren’t that stupid, so they knew this is exactly what would happen and they were okay with it. Always seems to be criminals before victims in Minnesota.
The Minneapolis Police Department is kicking off Operation Safe Summer on Wednesday by targeting "individuals known to commit violent crime."
Um, there should be no such thing as "known to commit violent crime." They should already be locked up.
Secondly, this is another psyop. Just enforce laws, prosecute offenders, and lock them up.
@FredGaulois People say “The French” are rebellious and this is a “French” problem, but obviously that’s not the cause today. This is a new problem caused by poor policy and a political system willing to lose the culture and identity of an entire population, too afraid to enforce its own laws
@lizcollin@AlphaNews O’Hara definitely didn’t have views and department policies to decrease crime or improve MPD morale, BUT be careful what you wish for. It can ALWAYS get worse. In a few months I suspect we will all be wishing he was back.
@warDaniel47 Very simple: politicians don’t dodge subpoenas if they have nothing to hide. Normal politicians are worried about overall public opinion and optics, so they do anything to convince voters they are innocent.
@Frank_X_Cross@CrimeWatchMpls Also, if you are interested, Ramsey County is seeing a massive decrease in auto theft and Saint Paul has 1/5 the thefts due to @RamseySheriff CAT Team and prosecution of offenders. Amazing: consequences ARE a deterrent! @CityMinneapolis politics endanger everyone!
@Frank_X_Cross@CrimeWatchMpls WCCO 5/8/26: Minneapolis Police Department on Friday reported 2,086 stolen vehicles so far in 2026, which is about 400 more than this time in 2025. @MaryMoriarty believes the solution to stop the thefts is prevention and diversion… yeah, prevent it if repeat crooks are in jail!
@LimitlessNewsMN I think people started fleeing more because of the appearance that police will not chase you, will not catch you, and even if you get caught consequences will be minimal. Effectively, why not? No regard to public safety. We need consequences to deter these pursuits.
@AlphaNews George Floyd SHOULD be remembered for who he was. A career criminal who suffered from addiction and harmed many victims. He died due to a combination of health conditions and overdose, exasperated by a mental health breakdown during lawful arrest. But Memorial Day isn’t his day.
@CrimeWatchMpls Please report crimes as quickly as reasonably possible. Even if a suspect isn’t caught, the crime statistics guide policy, funding, and resources. I hate to blame victims, but seriously if you don’t report every significant crime then our politicians lie and say crime is down.
@KSTP The victim was armed with a crowbar? There might be more to this story and it isn’t 100% clear which person is actually the victim.
Let me help with the title: A fight between a man armed with a crowbar and a man armed with a knife ended with one person stabbed, police say.
@isaacrrr7 1) Victims (past, present, and future) are 100% first priority
2) Our democratic laws say PRISON is an appropriate consequence for murder
3) Judges must be required to enforce sentence guidelines and minimums to PROTECT the public
4) Review this judges past cases and recidivism
@EndWokeness Gotta love how everyone on that game is acting like this is completely normal every day on public transportation in Chicago. That’s what this world is coming to. I can only imagine this is more evidence of the mental health crisis in this country and lack of any actual help.
@warDaniel47 Effectively the subpoena would only give the opportunity to ask someone @Ilhan connected in many ways as a witness or potential participant to billions of dollars in theft/fraud. Why would anyone block answers UNLESS they are involved or protecting someone? No other explanation.
These light sentences do absolutely nothing to deter crime. If Ahmed Nur stole $9,500,000 and only needs to repay $2.3M plus 180 days, that’s $40,000 PROFIT per day in jail AND no felony. But shoplifting $1000 is a felony. Insane and unacceptable. We NEED consequences!
A Somali man in Minnesota named Ahmed Nur stole nearly $10 million in a Medicaid fraud scheme
He was only sentenced to 180 days in the Workhouse
He was ordered to pay some restitution but his attorney says his corporate account is off limits
Wait until you hear this,
- The corporate account is called ‘AAA A to Z Friendly Languages, Inc’
- The company was repeatedly named in separate Medicaid fraud schemes
- Several of A to Z’s contracted interpreters were charged with billing Medicaid for fraudulent or phantom services
- one filing showed the company only verified interpreter logs about 10% of the time
Suggesting 90% fraud for his second company and he says that money can’t touched to pay back any restitution
He stole nearly $10 million with 1 company and has a second company he’s doing the same type of fraud with
Send every single Somali back to Somalia
We have all had enough
@CrimeWatchMpls Anyone working in any of the affected industries knows this is just the very surface of fraud: Medicare/Medicaid billing, healthcare, residential AND commercial property management, child day care, home healthcare, transportation, hospice, child specialty care, ballot harvesting.
@CrimeWatchMpls It is crazy how many times someone needs to be arrested and how much time passes before charges actually end up on their record. So 30+ actual convictions means this person has victimized an incredible number of Minnesotans. Our politicians are NOT serious about public safety!
@amyklobuchar Sure, justice was served to one criminal. But justice was NOT served to Minnesota or Minnesotans! Many other guilty parties received below-minimum sentences and many still need to be charged. Yes MINNESOTANS [STILL] DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY that is NOT [yet] being served!!!
@AGEllison@AGEllison: although I think most Minnesotans should be happy with this verdict and justice has been done for her case, this is not how people feel about other MN fraud case sentences. You have very bad optics here that she is the ONLY one so far actually receiving Justice.
