Marriage (or any positive romantic relationship) is sustained by grace, not emotional thrill. It is this grace that births patience and positive communication. You can have everything but if you don't have grace, you do not belong to the institution.
I would define grace here as the "internalised belief that your partner - the person you vetted and chose to be with - would not maliciously subject you to harm".
This is not to say that they won't do you wrong. But that this wrong will never be intentionally malicious in its manifestation. I should be able to trust that you mean me no harm, even in the errors that you make.
Only then can we focus on the problem, and not you vs me.
Unfortunately, the problem many make is in defining their grace through the partners. That it is the responsibility of the partner to make them gracious. Or trusting. But truth is, this disposition should exist long before the partner comes along.
This thing of he or she brings it out of me is a lazy attempt at delegation of duty. You should be those things before the partner arrives. The partner should complement what already exists, and has been trained for years. Otherwise, you will be postponing the inevitable. You are either gracious or not, and it will manifest overtime in how you treat and engage your partner.
The initial rays of romance tends to conceal a lot, but who you inherently are will inform the direction of the relationship. It will always prevail. So before you were treating your man right, how were you treating the gate man? Before you were kind to your wife, how were you addressing your mother?
Let me tell you all something quickly:
This bird here is a crow.
This man who killed it may not know this but this bird has superb facial recognition abilities, collective memory as a group and incredible social learning as a community.
They are known to keep grudges for years and for decades. If you kill/attack a crow, and another crow sees you, that crow will tell the rest and they will make it a community project to attack you, harass you, mob you and make your life hell.
During the day they will dive-bomb you. During the night they will make noises on your roof to give you nightmares.
There is nothing spiritual about them. They are just animals who have a good memory, who stand up for each other and who know how to keep a grudge against anybody who attacks one of their own. I wish Nigerians can learn from crows in how to deal with the lunatic politicians who ruin our lives. But that’s another day’s talk.
Anyway, incase you don’t know it yet:
You just messed with the wrong animal.
You will eventually have to relocate from that house. Go and write this down.
Dear @MarvelStudios ,
Here goes my BlindShot.
My name is Julius, also known as JulioSupercharge, a blind visionary from Kenya 🇰🇪
I've been a lifelong fan of Daredevil. Losing my sight at 10, I found hope in a blind superhero who used his other senses to navigate the world and fight for justice.
Today, I’m a lawyer advocating for disability rights, maximizing my other senses just like Matt Murdock. Beyond the courtroom, I'm also a blind adventurer I've summited both Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro back to back. My skills range from reviewing cars by touch and feel, to driving, riding motorcycles, skating, cooking, and hiking.
In many ways, I live the Daredevil spirit in real life.
I’d love to sit down with you and explore how we can inspire the next generation of kids with disabilities in Africa through comic books and storytelling that reflect their strength and possibilities.
Writing this with blinding faith and hope that you get to see this message.
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you,
JulioSupercharge
So today I got scammed on Mpesa, as a cybersec personnel I thought to myself I am "immune" to these scams, I mean have done lots of awareness trainings and read lots of threads on Fraud in Kenya.
So here is what happened
Someone told me a wild story.
Allegedly, some chaps have been offering cheap home internet in Juja.
A certain bank kept getting complaints from customers having their accounts cleaned.
Then they figured out all the complaints came from Juja.
I just want you to know that the powers that be don't care for shit. There is no filmmaker, in the world, in their right mind, who will pay these proposed news filming rates for Maasai Mara. No one is paying $10,000 to film per week, add flights, salaries, accommodation etc.
