Held a warm and most cordial telephone conversation with my dear brother, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this evening.

I thanked His Royal Highness for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s peace efforts and congratulated him on the signing of the historic Islamabad Peace Deal. His Royal Highness’s wise leadership and the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability remained vital guiding forces throughout this crisis.

We agreed that the next phase of negotiations must continue to be guided by a firm commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and vigilance against any attempt to undermine the peace process.

I also expressed complete satisfaction at the excellent state of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations and looked forward to further strengthening our economic partnership under the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

قومی اسمبلی میں اظہار خیال کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف نے کہا کہ خالق کائنات کا بے حد شکریہ ادا کرتے ہیں جس نے پاکستان کو یہ عزت عطا فرمائی کہ امریکا اور ایران کے درمیان جنگ بندی کا معاہدہ ہوا، اس کیلئے پوری پاکستانی قوم اس ایوان کے تمام اراکین کو بھی مبارکباد پیش کرتے ہیں ۔

وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ دنیا میں کئی ممالک اور قومیں ایسی عزت کی تلاش میں صدیاں گزار جاتی ہیں لیکن وہ اس طرح سے عزت حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب نہیں ہو سکتیں جس طرح آج پاکستان کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے عزت عطا فرمائی ہے۔ پاکستان کے اس کردار پر اس ایوان سے ایک متفقہ قرارداد جانی چاہئے جو اس عظیم کامیابی کیلئے اس ہائوس کی جانب سے بھرپور تائید ہو گی اور اس سے دنیا میں یکجہتی، اتفاق اور اتحاد کا پیغام جائے گا۔ انہوں نے اپوزیشن کو بھی دعوت دی کہ وہ سیاسی اختلافات کو ایک طرف رکھ کر ملکر اس مبارک دن اللہ کا شکر ادا کریں اور دنیا کو بتائیں کہ سیاسی اختلافات کے ساتھ ساتھ قومی مفادات کیلئے ہم ایک ہیں اور ایک رہیں گے۔

وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ اس عظیم کامیابی میں سب سے کلیدی کردار فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر نے ادا کیا، انہوں نے امن کے قیام کیلئے اڑھائی مہینے دن رات کام کیا. انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ نائب وزیراعظم اسحاق ڈار کو بھی مبارکباد پیش کرتے ہیں جنہوں نے اس عمل میں اپنا بھرپور حصہ ڈالا، اسی طرح وزیر داخلہ سید محسن نقوی نے بھی ایران کے حوالے سے اپنا بھرپور کردار ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے اپوزیشن جماعتوں، ان کے اراکین ، اتحادی جماعتوں اور ان کے قائدین کو بھی مبارکباد پیش کی۔

وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ گزشتہ روز ان کی ایران کے صدر مسعود پزشکیان سے آدھا گھنٹہ ٹیلیفون پر بات ہوئی جس میں انہوں نے پاکستان اور پاکستان کے عوام کا ایران کی حکومت اور ایرانی قوم کی جانب سے دل کی گہرائیوں سے شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے اس مشکل وقت میں ایران کا ساتھ دیا اور پاکستان ایران کے ساتھ چٹان کی طرح کھڑا رہا۔ ایرانی صدر نے فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر، نائب وزیراعظم سینیٹر محمد اسحاق ڈار اور وزیر داخلہ محسن نقوی کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا۔ میں نے انہیں دورہ پاکستان کی دعوت دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ قوم آپ کا پاکستان میں والہانہ استقبال کرنے کیلئے منتظر ہے تاکہ دنیا کو یہ بتایا جا سکے کہ ایران اور پاکستان صرف ہمسایہ ملک نہیں بلکہ برادر ملک ہیں اور ہمارے دل ایک ساتھ دھڑکتے ہیں۔ ایرانی صدر نے پہلی فرصت میں پاکستان آنے کا عندیہ دیا ہے کہ وہ پاکستان آ کر وہاں کے عوام کا شکریہ ادا کرینگے۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے سپریم لیڈر آیت اللہ خامنہ ای کی تدفین جو 3 یا 4 جولائی کو ہونی ہے اس میں شرکت کی دعوت دی ہے جس پر انہیں کہا ہے کہ یہ ہمارا فرض ہے اور ان شاء اللہ وہاں پر پاکستان موجود ہو گا تاکہ ہم دنیا کو بتا سکیں کہ ان کیلئے ہمارے دلوں میں کتنا احترام ہے۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ اس جنگ بندی کے نتیجے میں اس خطے میں معاشی خوشحالی آئے گی۔ خطے میں جنگ بندی کے بعد اب تیل کی قیمتیں تیزی سے نیچے آ رہی ہیں اور اس میں مزید کمی آئے گی۔ اس پر ہفتہ وار نظرثانی آج ہو گی اور پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں نمایاں کمی کا اعلان کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جب تین ماہ قبل جنگ چھڑی تو اس وقت تیل کی عالمی قیمتوں کو آگ لگ گئی اور مہنگائی کا ایک طوفان کھڑا ہوا۔ پاکستان کے عوام نے جس طرح اس دوران تحمل اور برداشت کا مظاہرہ کیا وہ اپنی مثال آپ ہے اس پر پاکستانی عوام کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت نے مہنگائی کے اس طوفان سے عام آدمی کو بچانے کیلئے حتیٰ المقدور کوشش کی ،پٹرولیم مصنوعات پر 128 ارب روپے کی سبسڈی دی تاکہ عوام پر مہنگائی کا کم سے کم بوجھ پڑے۔ وزیر اعظم نے صوبائی حکومتوں کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے اس مشکل وقت میں وفاق کی بھرپور معاونت کی اور انہوں نے اپنے عوام کو ریلیف پہنچانے کی ہر ممکن کوشش کی۔ انہوں نے وزیر پٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک، وزیر خزانہ محمد اورنگزیب، وزیر منصوبہ بندی، نائب وزیراعظم، سیکرٹری خزانہ اور سیکرٹری پٹرولیم کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا کہ سب نے ملکر اس میں اپنا حصہ ڈالا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ان مشکل ترین حالات کے باوجود پاکستان نے پیٹرول پمپوں پر لائنیں نہیں لگیں، کوئی بلوے نہیں ہوئے جبکہ سری لنکا اور بنگلہ دیش میں جو صورتحال پیدا ہوئی وہ سب کے سامنے ہے۔ وزیراعظم نے امریکا کی قیادت بالخصوص صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ کی جانب سے مذاکراتی عمل میں بھرپور حصہ ڈالنے پر ان کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا۔ وزیراعظم نے برادر ملک قطر، سعودی عرب ، ترکیہ کے کردار کو بھی سراہا۔ وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ چین جو پاکستان کا ہمالیہ کی طرح بلند دوست ملک ہے اس کا اس عمل میں بڑا کردار رہا۔ اس کی لیڈر شپ نے امن عمل میں بھرپور معاونت کی۔ انہوں نے اس عمل میں حصہ ڈالنے والے دیگر ممالک کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا۔

The Islamabad MOU has been signed by President of USA Donald J. Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

I am honoured to announce that the historic ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ has been electronically signed today between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Memorandum has been signed by honourable Presidents of both the countries and also endorsed by me as the mediator. The signing of this agreement at the highest level of the respective governments demonstrates the commitment of both sides to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict. Islamabad MoU shall enter into force with immediate effect and as a first step, Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.

I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump whose steadfast commitment to diplomacy and preference for peaceful resolution have once again helped end a conflict that could have led to devastating consequences for the region and beyond. I also commend the dedication and tireless efforts of the United States negotiating team, including J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for their invaluable contributions to this achievement.

I express my profound respect and appreciation to His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran and President Masoud Pezeshkian for their wisdom, foresight and statesmanship in embracing the cause of peace. I also wish to recognize the efforts of the Iranian negotiating team, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Momeni, whose patience, perseverance and commitment to constructive engagement were instrumental in bringing this agreement to fruition.

I would especially like to acknowledge the sincere efforts and constructive engagement of the leadership of the State of Qatar in helping reach this point. I also highly commend the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt for their indispensable role and invaluable contributions in this regard.

I would also like to make special mention of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose tireless efforts, selfless dedication and instrumental role were critical in facilitating this breakthrough and advancing the cause of peace and regional stability.

ایران اور امریکا کے درمیان کسی معاہدے کے لئے پاکستان کے مثبت کردار سے کوئی انکار نہیں کر سکتا ۔۔ گو معاہدہ پاکستان میں نہیں بلکہ سویٹزرلینڈ میں دستخط ہو گا ، لیکن آب جو تفصیلات اگلے دو ماہ میں طے ہوں گی پاکستان کا ثالثی رول ان میں بھی ہو سکتا ہے ۔۔اس مقام پر پہنچنے کا کوئی سان و گمان بھی آج سے چھ ماہ پہلے ممکن نہیں تھا۔
اب اس مقام کو ملک کی معیشت اور سماجی حیثیت کو مظبوط اور محفوظ بنانا ہمارے حکمرانوں کا کام ہے ۔۔ دعا ہے کہ وہ اس صورتحال میں اپنے ذاتی اقتدار کو دوام دینے کے بجائے اس ملک اور عوام کے لئے کچھ بہتری کی طرف بھی توجہ دیں ۔۔
