The model showed strong performance in discovery (AUC 0.85), validation (AUC 0.87), and inception (AUC 1.0) cohorts. Proteins were enriched in gut barrier and macrophage-related pathways, indicating early immune involvement.

๐ง๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ: This landmark study provides strong evidence that preclinical changes in blood-based protein expression can reliably predict the future onset of Crohnโs disease and to a lesser extent, ulcerative colitis many years before symptoms appear. These findings support the potential for a proteomics-based screening approach for at-risk populations, laying the groundwork for earlier diagnosis with execution of interventional strategies in IBD.
