That really isn't the main forgetting. Much more significantly, about half of all the occurrences of agape in the LXX are in the Song of Songs (ie it's normative), where it always describes something much closer to eros - eg "Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love (ἀγάπης)"

How should we read the ἀρραβών of Eph 1:14? It is a part payment that guarantees the full payment later. I am very sympathetic to your criticism of full realization, but I do think GE Ladd has a point. "Now and not yet" seems to me to be a pretty good description of part payment "now" with the remainder "not yet". I don't think "now and not yet" is as illogical as you suggest. I'd be very interested in your thoughts.
