ok last night I fired off an unhelpful thread about gimmel tammuz and "why chabad doesn't appoint another Rebbe" let me try fire off a more helpful one:
Factually inaccurate
Lubavitch had a hard enough time passing nesius from *father to son* well before Holocaust and soviets (alter rebbe to mitteler, Tzemach tzedek to the Maharash, 10 years between Maharash and Rashab) there’s no way a distant cousin would be considered
What’s depressing is that he doesn’t understand what a Rebbe is and that maybe if a ginormous community all unanimously agrees on something there’s actually something to it and we’re not all just dumb.
Leave it up to the Lubavitchers to creat an ideology out a horrifically sad story.
The Rebbe, The Rayatz, the Rashab, and The Maharash all have no living descendants.
Its mind boggling how depressing this fact is. Holocaust, Soviet Russia, its really depressing.
