Elon Musk's decision to open-source @grok marks a positive development in the AI field.

Open source is important for humanity's future, technology in general, and for the future of AI in particular, both immediate-term applied AI, #AGI, and even superintelligence #ASI.

However, open source alone is insufficient. We also need decentralized methodologies for deploying #AI systems, supplying them with ethical data, training them to reflect a breadth of human values, and collectively making decisions about various aspects of AI systems as they advance.

@elonmusk, @xai, this is a great step forward! The next natural step would be to open access to Grok's underlying data. This will allow the AI community to train and deploy variant models on decentralized infrastructure for the good of humanity and other sentient beings.
