@BotanyKaren @BotanyRNG While emailing last week, Alastair wrote that there are so many great #BotanyBooks to suggest, that we could resume this for #AdventBotany in future years, with a broader group of contributors. It would be wonderful if you might consider sharing some of your faves 📚.
Another week, another advance in the #herbarium move. #Linnaeus and #HerbariumBarbie have just finished moving Brassicaceae (Cruciferae) and Linnaeus is explaining that nine families each have two current family names. Do you know the nine?
In Lewes today - some very nicely framed seaweed by Peta King. These would look good in @RNGherb! Sadly a bit beyond the herbarium budget 🛒

We're interested in whether growing houseplants in your student room can help with mental well-being. Looking at this smile we're starting from a pretty happy point! 😁🤩 #houseplants@RNGherb@readingbotany
@mygreenstudy back in action @ReadingBioSci. Today we were potting up houseplants. Over the next three weeks our planty students will live with these and report on their well-being.
Gynura aurantiaca is known as purple passion due to the colourful hairs. Lovely in leaf, a bit whiffy in flower. It's a fun #houseplant and very tactile but needs good light and regular trimming back. #Asteraceae#mygreenstudy@mrjmagson
