The most dangerous myth I used to believe as a budding entrepreneur:

"Hard work leads to success."

Truth: Grinding has a place when you're executing, you know the plan, need to stay in your lane.

But the million dollar moonshots, the real breakthroughs, the game changers that actually move the needle.. these almost always come at an unexpected moment.

Maybe a thought slips from unconscious to conscious while you're coming out of a dream one morning. Or something 'clicks' while watching a sunset.

You lose your ability to connect with these insights when you're working 12 hr days, grinding like a chump.

So get some f*cking rest. Take a holiday once in a while. Your business will be better off for it.

I've been spending more and more time on Reddit lately, and I've realized something profound.

Reddit is the last good "social" network.

The others are forcing an ever-growing divide between creators and consumers.

Instagram, Tiktok - and Twitter - are advertising platforms wrapped up as entertainment services.

It's ironic that the platform with the most anonymity also creates the most genuine human connection.

Easy way to confirm - examine how value is distributed in the content hierarchy.

Reddit: basic content unit (post) = ~50% of the value. Remaining 50% is created by users replying & generating a discussion.

Twitter/IG/etc: basic content unit = 95% value. replies = 5%
