@JasonKander@Majority54 that we shift to a mindset of “moving forward.” Unfortunately, COVID is not done with us & we must remember those caught in the middle like my mom.
@JasonKander@Majority54 Love your podcast Jason, but if I may, I’d like to add to the COVID conversation. I too am done. But I’m done for another reason: because my vaccinated mother died of COVID in December. Because even though as a three-time cancer survivor & diabetic, she believed in science ...
@JasonKander@Majority54 I want to “be done.” But I’m having a terrible time reconciling the fact that the risks for people like my mom are far from over. She was vaxxed, but she died because others wouldn’t protect her. I think that instead of “being done” with COVID,
@JasonKander@Majority54 And although we live in a blue state with excellent overall vaccination rates, she was part of a conservative nationalistic faith community that didn’t protect her and prioritized misinformation. At this point in the pandemic I find myself caught in the middle.
"we saw a huge decrease in sex assault reporting...when victims would talk to advocates, they would say that it was because they were afraid they're going to be treated like the victim in Kobe Bryant’s [case.]”

@allawati And I have a degree in Middle Eastern Studies with a concentration on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and completed a conflict resolution course in Israel, Palestine, & Jordan but you don’t see me trying that kind of white savior bullshit.
You know who else is "evil?": Kim Jong Un, Putin, MBS. Trump has no problem with them. Praises them in fact. Doesn't escalate a crisis by assassinating their top generals. Just saying.
