The last round of Blast @blastdotfun on Sui dying wasn’t without reason.

My impression of that round can be summed up in four words: unusable, unusable, and still unusable.

The post quoted below is the first meme that’s supposed to launch on this platform. Launching a meme still requires a KOL round and a whitelist… this is actually funny.

A month ago @EmanAbio said the Sui trenches would come back. A few small launchpads (@SuiPump_SUMP @perpsplexity @popular_sui) finally started seeing a little bit of volume.

Then Blast suddenly popped up saying they were doing a V2 relaunch. It didn’t really affect those small trenches that barely had any liquidity anyway.

Right after that, some so-called Sui OGs who are closely tied to this platform started criticizing the memes that were actually being built, with the clear implication of “we need Blast to come back.”

Then this half-baked team, terrified that Sui memes might actually take off, dropped “early bird access codes” before they were even ready. This made people in the ecosystem think the launchpad was about to restart immediately.

In reality, it just killed the continuity of the trenches.

The first batch of these early bird codes went to the usual “OGs” and “former ambassadors.” Some of them haven’t been active in the Sui ecosystem for a long time, and some of them still drop FUD from time to time.

Around 200–300 spots were just handed to them. They can even recruit people and form “teams” — which is basically just a referral rebate scheme.

And the result? More than 20 days later, this platform has done absolutely nothing, and successfully put out the small fire that was just starting to burn.

I understand wanting to promote, but can you not come out until you’re actually ready? You preheated for so long that even your own hype cooled down. Classic lose-lose.

If you’re going to give out invite codes, at least allocate some to communities of other protocols in the ecosystem.

Instead, everything went to the “OGs and former ambassadors” who are close to them.

By the way, the vast majority of the people who received these codes haven’t supported any ecosystem memes in the past two months. They’ve been unusually quiet and restrained. Some even made hostile comments about builders (which they later deleted).

Now I get it. They were waiting for an already-dead launchpad so they could whitelist their wallets and inject a bit of liquidity.

Right now I still believe Sui’s meme season will come back.

I also think some pure fair-launch memes might eventually appear on Blast.

But I will not buy any token promoted by people who are currently in the top 200 on the Blast leaderboard.

Yesterday someone drained 131 forgotten NFT bids on @TradePort (Sui) for ~257 SUI — using NFTs that are completely empty and worthless.
No wallet hack. No phishing. Just a dead contract that never checked what it was selling

The bids were real offers people placed in 2023–2024 on specific NFTs, then forgot about.
The SUI sat locked in escrow on-chain for 2+ years. TradePort's bidding contract (last upgraded Mar 2024) let ANY NFT fill a bid — it checked the payment coin, not the item.

So the attacker:
- published a throwaway collection my_nft::MyNft at 07:48 UTC
- gave it an empty royalty policy so transfers pass freely
- minted junk NFTs and sold them into 131 open bids in 25 seconds

Bids up to 100 SUI each got filled. ~257 SUI pulled in one 25-second burst.
