@MaestroChalan @Alan_Leturno @GuntherEagleman@Liz_Cheney Lying, even about politics and even by public officials, has been upheld as protected speech by SCOTUS in multiple different cases. Maybe they should have ruled differently, but even if she she has lied about Trump, the only recourse is a defamation civil suit.
@grumpyexkiwi @Dog_House_Show I'm curious if you asked for context regarding the alleged attempt by VP Harris' staff to end the interview with the Fox interview?
@PrettyDamnedHot@jazzmessenger@realXanderXjork The big difference is that investigative agencies generally don't give details of ongoing investigations.
On the whole, though, I'm not sure I entirely disagree with your point. People running for high office _should_ face increased scrutiny and accept a slight loss of privacy.
@GuyFawkesWNC@bklewis201@JoshStein_ $250,000 divided by 20 students is $12,500 per year. I can't speak to the quality of public versus private, but the person you're responding to is making things seem worse than they are by adding that "per 20 students" part.
@FoxRiverC@ArtCandee@RonFilipkowski With the average home price of roughly $370,000, the $25,000 down should allow for a 5% down FHA loan. The median home price is $412,000, which also allows for it. (sourced from Zillow and Redfin)
@McfaulDylan @cmclymer Reading the article, the lawsuit was filed against X, and since X operates in France, it is subject to those laws.
Rowling and Musk were _also_ named, and for those two I'm not actually sure how international laws would work. You may be right about Musk as an individual, though.
@TacoforFive1 @Annmak19447006 @JaredEMoskowitz If that's true, then why did you say:
> How about a stand alone bill to fix the border crisis? No? Then no deal!
You're saying a bill isn't needed, but you're also saying that without a bill this bill shouldn't be allowed to come to a vote?
Is a bill needed or not?
@epibeemie @clanghoff1 @mrhortywho @cmclymer The OP specifically says "move to expel" which, at least to me, implies starting the process, not single-handedly doing the expulsion. Maybe I'm just reading "move" in this context differently.
@SoCalCharlie@EmphasizeTruth@RonDeSantis CA is #1 for GDP, FL is #4
CA is #6 for per-capita GDP, FL is #37

You're spot on about CA vs FL unemployment, though, which is something I didn't know, so I appreciate the info about that.
@Pis0Mojado@davidmweissman Even the items you aren't making up have been about Hunter Biden. Last I checked, he wasn't President Biden.
I've heard about the whole "sins of the father" thing, but I didn't realize it also worked in reverse.
@alhp23@davidmweissman A whistleblower without any other evidence is the literal definition of hearsay.

"Hearsay is an out-of-court statement offered to prove the truth of whatever it asserts, which is then offered in evidence to prove the truth of the matter."
