reading the pained responses of mathematicians, there’s a real cruelty in the way the labs have pursued this. not least because the attempted outcome in dropping so much unvalidated and poorly-written work (per the comments) is to push some of the world’s most passionate problem-solvers to be fact-checkers to a machine, as a kind of cynical cheap-as-free RL environment-by-nerdsnipe. dump a bunch of shit in public, call it solutions, get the experts to pore over it, painstakingly review and critique, scrape their efforts and use it to tweak the model, all while stoking terror about the future of the profession. it’s fucked up.
i think something might be wrong with the way i think about math because i'm always drawn to using nested subscripts to keep track of things. and surely nested subscripts can't be the best answer for keeping track of anything
surely there's a better way to define the sections of the structure sheaf over D(f) than "the localization of A at the functions which are not elements of primes which don't contain f." too much negation!
@rottendarlinq@dogyceI most of the time your adrenal glands produce enough testosterone that you do not have to do this. at the very least it is not typical.
@_LiaCore what would be the point of the clobetasol here? with a quick google i can see that high doses can mess the the hpa axis, is it something to do with that? also why cycle the estrogen off while doing it? does igf-i act differently on breast tissue in the presence of estrogen?
being a mediocre mathematician has really cushioned the psychological blow of the recent ai math advances - oh ChatGPT is better at math than me? so are a large portion of the people I talk to already
@UranianOctober u don’t understand what socialism means until you’ve seen a cis girl try to pretend like she has “got bored after 2 weeks of voice training” accent
i spent some amount of time in the grand canyon agonizing over when/how to acknowledge my transsexuality in conversation with a diva i was kayaking with, only to see one night in camp that my dad lent her an ammo can with a decade old family portrait pasted to the lid #lol
