as a person working in corporate where sales matters, if the company on average has been making 50mil per month, now dropped 70% revenue every month, that is not good at all. to us players, 10mil looks alot. but to company like infold, its not. we're not the one paying overhead or getting the profits.

whats the first thing company would do if they're losing major profits & couldn't sustain? retrenchment. laying off staffs to downsize operations. im not saying this what infold is doing. just coming from corporate pov, retrenchment is a common standard corporate response when a company is facing major financial loss.

now we can ask ourselves, what if this happens, what will happen to the future of this live service game?

The boycott losing momentum shouldn’t be a cause for concern because protest fatigue is VERY real. Three months of hardcore protesting and boycotting at this intensity is practically unheard of, and we have been going HARD.

The boycott has been impossible for Paper Games to ignore, and those revenue numbers are hard to ignore, too.

If you submitted a survey, that’s also VERY hard to ignore.

So I understand the disappointment in seeing momentum decline, but people can only go this hard for so long before wanting to move on. That doesn’t mean the boycott ends.

Protesting and boycotting are two different things.

In May, during Lingering Lust, global revenue was sitting at nearly $49M.

Not only did we have another super horny banner this time around, but we also had exposed foreheads and a ton of additional content locked behind paywalls.

And the total? Not impressive. September ended at around $19M, and that included the bulk of the banner spending.

So, yeah. The impact is hard to deny. Even though active protesting is starting to decline, the drop in spending and apparent loss of interest in the game are still significant. Paper Games has to seriously consider how much Valko contributed to this.

So please don’t get discouraged. I believe one reason the company is taking so long to move is the crisis they’re facing.

At this point, another wrong move could be devastating for the company. Point blank, period.

Valko is dangerous. Simply put. They need to be 100% confident that it’s safe to release him before they do, if they decide he is coming back.

Which I think they do want him to come back.

The official Lads account reaching out to artists to collaborate on art for the brand just proves the point I always make: the game and its fandom don’t exist without their creators.

We’ve lost so many creative people because of the Valko situation and the community becoming even more unbearable with the constant bullying. That includes digital artists, editors, lore analysts, people who optimize combat strategies, etc. These are the people who keep a fandom alive.
