Let’s open our hearts to the poor, feed the hungry, support families in need, and give charity with sincerity.

Let’s also take full advantage of this holy month by reading the Qur’an, increasing our duas, and praying at night (Qiyam). These are precious days and nights that come only once a year — a chance to grow closer to Allah and renew our hearts.

This is a good step and a positive start for Somalis in Pakistan. But let’s also be honest and fair many people registered for the Somali ID card more than a year ago and still have not received their physical cards. Only photos and registration slips were given.

If this is a “new era,” it should bring real service delivery, transparency, and timely issuance of actual ID cards to the people — not just ceremonies and announcements. People deserve results, not just launches
