.@swell_school recently asked me “Given what happened to people’s bodies when cheap calories became widely available, what do you think will happen to people’s brains as cheap thinking becomes widely available?” and I cannot stop thinking about it.

This was one of the most interesting conversations I’ve had in a while.
Michelle Thaller a wealth of fascinating information about space, time and all things the cosmos. And she’s an incredibly compelling speaker. These kinds of podcasts are some of my favorites

This 100+ year old bridge burned in the Texas Panhandle due to a wildfire.
They a new one built within a week.
American Exceptionalism is still alive and well.
Brazil and Guyana traded $58 million in 2020.
This year the same trade flow hit $1 billion, sixteen times bigger in just six years.
Most people see that and scroll past.
What is being built underneath it matters more.
A Brazilian construction company called Álya is turning 121 kilometers of dirt road into paved highway in Guyana.
The work will be done in August.
That stretch is the first piece of a 450 kilometer corridor connecting farms in northern Brazil to a new ocean port being designed by Bechtel.
When the corridor opens, soybeans from the state of Roraima will reach the ocean by a 665 kilometer drive heading north toward the Caribbean.
Today, no road to the ocean exists in that direction.
Farmers truck their soy down to the Amazon River and ship it the rest of the way by barge. That river route only fully works three months a year.
The new corridor will work all year, in any weather.
The full article walks through what this changes, what the doubters miss, and why most investors are not paying attention yet.

@Michael52682075@tedcruz Treason is the crime of betraying one's country or sovereign, typically by attempting to overthrow the government, levying war against it, or aiding its enemies.
Who is allowing these things?
You cannot buy a new gas turbine until 2030. Order books at GE, Siemens, and Mitsubishi stretch to 2029. Turbine prices have nearly tripled since 2019. Every AI data center needs power and every gas plant needs a turbine. And every turbine has one part that bottlenecks the entire industry: The blade. It has to survive in gas 500°C above the melting point of the metal it's made from and spin at up to 20,000 RPM under 10,000 g of centrifugal force. Each blade is grown as a single crystal of nickel superalloy, pulled through a vacuum furnace at 3 mm per minute. A set of blades costs $600,000 and takes 90 weeks to grow. The same metallurgy powers modern jet engines. Only 3 companies on Earth can build one. China spent $42 billion trying to catch up. They bought a Russian fighter engine, took it apart, and copied every part. Their copy ran 30 hours between overhauls versus 400 for the original. Modern Western engines run 4,000. You can reverse engineer the shape of a turbine blade. You cannot reverse engineer 60 years of metallurgy.
🇺🇸⚛️Blue Energy Raises $380 Million to Build Nukes for Data Centers
The startup Blue Energy Global Inc. raised $380 million to develop small, prefabricated nuclear reactors to run data centers.
The funding round was led by VXI Capital and included investments from Engine Ventures and Tamarack Global, according to a statement Tuesday. Among other things, the Chevy Chase, Maryland-based company will use the proceeds to pay for equipment that needs to be ordered long in advance.
Blue Energy plans to build a power plant for a data center being developed in Port of Victoria, Texas. The company will initially use natural gas generators at the site, then later install small reactors using a standardized construction model that can be repeated. (Bloomberg)
Chevron + Microsoft just confirmed what we’ve been tracking: AI is becoming a major new demand driver for natural gas in Texas.
Here’s what matters:
• Chevron (CVX), Microsoft (MSFT) + Engine No. 1 are developing a massive West Texas data center
• Initial capacity: 2.5 GW (potentially scaling to 5 GW)
• Powered by on-site natural gas generation (GE Vernova turbines)
• Targeting FID in early 2026, operations by 2027

A Chinese engineering student walked into his dorm with three boxes from Apple. Two Mac Studios. One Mac Mini. Set them up in a row. Stuck a label on each one: UI/UX. DEV. ADMIN. Two monitors behind them showing satellite maps of cities he's never been to.
His roommate watched the whole thing and said: You spent $4,000 to check the weather?
He smiled. Said nothing. Let him keep thinking that.
Then someone noticed what the three boxes were actually connected to.
A wallet. Making $106K. Betting on the temperature.

Two Mac Studios and a Mac Mini doing one thing. Claude pulls live pilot weather data. METAR. TAF. Real sensors from real stations. Updated every 1-3 hours worldwide. Temperature accurate to a tenth of a degree. The DEV box compares it to prediction market prices. When they don't match the UI/UX screen flashes. The ADMIN box logs the trade.
Flash. Trade. Green.
$13 on Lucknow hitting 39C on March 7. Payout: $6,850. $11 on Ankara hitting 4C on February 23. Payout: $5,752.
Eleven dollar bets returning five thousand. On the temperature in a city most people can't find on a map.
A friend who flies commercial told him pilots get atmospheric data hours before any public forecast. This data is free. Aviation safety requires it. Nobody outside of aviation even looks at it.
He looked. Pointed Claude at the feeds. Said: find me every city where the real temperature doesn't match the price.
Claude found dozens. Every single day. Tokyo. Chicago. Wellington. Atlanta. Ankara. Lucknow. Cities on six continents. All with weather stations publishing data that nobody in the markets is reading.
The three boxes run 24/7. Even when he's in class. Even when he's asleep. The satellite maps keep updating. The DEV box keeps comparing. The screen keeps flashing.
His roommate finally asked what the setup actually does. The student showed him the balance. The roommate didn't say anything. Just asked for a third monitor.
34K people watching. $89K still loaded in active positions. Two Mac Studios. One Mac Mini. Two screens. One quiet kid who realized the most predictable thing on Earth is the thing everyone ignores.
The weather.
***Nebraska is in the middle of a devastating wildfire emergency.***
It is the worst wildfire destruction our state has ever experienced. Nearly three quarters of a million acres have already been consumed, and the fires continue to spread with no containment in sight.
The Morrill Fire, the largest ever recorded in Nebraska, along with the Cottonwood, Anderson Bridge, and Road 203 fires, are sweeping across the state with force. Highways are closing. Families are being forced to evacuate. A state of emergency has been declared. And heartbreakingly, a life has already been lost.
The conditions are fueling the chaos. Strong winds. Dry land. Fire moving faster than it can be fought.
This situation is not under control.
In a moment like this, Nebraska needs more than manpower and resources. We need prayer.

A declassified CIA document from February 1951, has Americans furious after hidden document with potential cure for cancer is found.
The document summarizes a 1950 Soviet scientific paper by Professor V.V. Alpatov published in the journal Priroda, highlighting biochemical similarities between parasitic worms and cancerous tumors.
Both rely on anaerobic metabolism in low-oxygen environments, accumulate glycogen, and exhibit an "aerofermentor" type of energy production, leading Soviet researchers to explore shared vulnerabilities.
The document notes that certain chemical compounds target both parasites and tumors effectively, such as Myracyl D (effective against bilharzia parasites and malignant tumors) and guanozolo (which disrupts nucleic acid synthesis in cancer cells and microorganisms).
Another example is atebrin, where its right-rotating form showed greater toxicity to tumor tissues and parasites compared to the left-rotating form, suggesting inverted receptors in these abnormal cells.
The CIA monitored this Soviet work due to Cold War concerns over biomedical advances potentially relating to biological defense or warfare implications.
The herbicide Glyphosate is one of the likely culprits in America’s chronic disease epidemic. Much more widely used here than in Europe. Shockingly, much of our exposure comes from its use as a desiccant on wheat, not as an herbicide. From there it goes straight into our bodies. My USDA will ban that practice.
