@railmaps@jendudley "confronting" πππ
The government will mandate noise makers in cars at some point and the world will move on. It's a non-issue beyond that. Asking why cars need to make noise is like asking why trains need to have signals.
@railmaps@jendudley You're obviously incapable of being a logician.
The car noise is just to replace the engine noise so that it can be heard the same way as a petrol one. Nothing else changes. All your questions already have "conclusions".
@railmaps@jendudley Noiseless trains & trams are dangerous. Trains have horns, trams have bells. Putting noise makers on cars is a logical and reasonable regulation already in place elsewhere.
You're just arguing that cars are fundamentally unsafe, & can't be made safer, because they're not trains.
@railmaps@jendudley No, but I can dispute that cars have a "fundamental issue with their inherent safety".
My two EVs have noise makers built in. It's not hard. Same as trucks making reversing beeps etc.
You've obviously never driven a train and had an encounter with track workers. Horn essential.
@railmaps@jendudley Dude. I drive both. Here's my EV next to my train.
You made a sweeping assertion that cars are fundamentally unsafe as they rely on noise.
I could say that trains are more dangerous because I've hit more people with them. I don't, they're not. Knock off sweeping generalisations
@ask_aubry I can understand his perspective slightly, but this is very definitely one of many instances where her needs come first. He needed to suck it up and go.
@ask_aubry I'm very squeamish. But my wife needed me and I can't imagine refusing. It's what partners do.
They kept screens around the caesarian, for the vaginal birth I simply looked away from there if I felt sick; I couldn't look away towards the end. I was holding her hand throughout.
@railmaps@jendudley So in other words, they're installed on trains and cars because both rely "on it making noise to avoid killing and injuring people".
@CaraSantaMaria Those who call his 1st texts a joke - the fuck?!? There's zero levity. When he's reasonably and correctly told he's wrong, he goes incel.
Cara, you're named after a Saint, & you demo the patience of one in that convo. Hoping this wasn't someone close. I hope you're ok.
@ButtigiegMark Especially as corporate profits are soaring. Wages are only just starting to perk up.
Time to start taxing the wealthy. Scrap the high income tax cuts, and start taxing those who profiteer.
@nswliberalhq@johaylen@NSWLabor@johaylen represents the Inner West. Many stations in her electorate have 6 tracks but only 2 platforms. The train in this video wasn't an inner west line train, but obviously you're too busy trying to be funny rather than actually repair a busted, slow timetable.
@DamienTudehope@LiberalNSW@NSWNationals $1.3 million extra per year. That's like, two extra executives? It's less than a tenth of a percent of what you lot pissed away on TAHE.
How's the Opal Tower looking? You going to try and blame the union for that too?
@bobbyllew Unfortunately NSW and other states are following suit. Hoping the legal challenge stands.
I'm fine with reforming road usage taxes/fuel excise, but this EV tax isn't it.
@adambspencer Neither good nor bad.
We swallow 1.5 litres of phlegm every day. A gram out the front of the nose isn't going to be any different from the kilo out the back.
@ChrisRathMLC Well, nobody wants the Metro extension to Bankstown. And we do want foreign purchases of defective ferries/trains cancelled.
"Backwards" is a hell of a lot better than "into the ground", where you've been driving NSW. Worst performing economy in the country.
