MPs on the Parliamentary Forum of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), have called for improved access of sanitation facilities for the Elderly and Persons With Disabilities, arguing that most of latrines and toilet facilities aren't user friendly for these vulnerable groups.
The call was made by Christine Nakimwelo (Kiboga DWR), during today’s Press Briefing at Parliament, ahead of the inaugural Annual WASH Symposium, slated for 28th November 2024 at Butaleja Boma Grounds.
This #WorldToiletDay, we emphasize that WASH is Everyone’s Business:
🕊️ Safe sanitation fosters peace by reducing tensions over resources.
📈 It drives progress by empowering women, improving schools, and supporting workplaces.
🛡️ It protects communities from disease and environmental harm.
Together, we can achieve #SanitationForAll by 2030! 💧🚻
