“Leonard Cohen said his teacher once told him that the older you get the lonelier you become, and the deeper the love you need. This is because, as we go through life, we tend to over-identify with being the hero of our stories.
Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference.
Words are energy and they cast spells, that's why it's called spelling.
Change the way you speak about yourself, and you can change your life. —@brucelee
"If you're trying to persuade people to do something or buy something, it seems to me you should use their language, the language they use every day, the language in which they think." – David Ogilvy
Many ideas get dismissed because they come from someone we don’t like.
You would never choose to use only half of your talent, but when you dismiss ideas because you don’t like someone, that’s what you’re doing.
You can agree with the idea without agreeing with the person.
7 Dysfunctional Emotional Communication Styles:
1. Emotional invalidation: attempting to get someone to believe their emotions are the issue instead of the actual problem or conflict at hand. This can look like saying “You’re too dramatic,” “you’re too sensitive,” or “you just need to get over it or move on” whenever emotions are expressed.
2. Projection: a defense mechanism of attributing undesired traits or actions in oneself to someone else. This can look like making accusations such as “You’re probably the one lying” in response to a stated concern.
3. Scorekeeping: a control dynamic where two people avoid addressing conflict by bringing up a past conflict or wrongdoing to “one up” the other. This can look like bringing up a past issue in response to a current concern.
4. Name calling/shaming: using insults as a way to control or modify others’ behavior. This can look like using derogatory language or mean-spirited comments or “jokes.”
5. Silent treatment: shutting down, withdrawing, or pretending a person isn’t present as a way of avoiding issues or displaying disapproval. This can look like completely ignoring someone by not speaking to them or not responding when being spoken to.
6. Avoidance: Denying, ignoring or “sweeping issues under the rug.” This can look like refusing to take ownership over one’s behaviors often by refusing to admit or lying about one’s actions, refusing to talk about problems or issues, or ignoring the reality of the problems or issues entirely.
7. Deflection: consistently changing the subject to redirect blame toward another (externalization) and avoid personal responsibility. This can look like blaming someone for being the cause of their verbal, emotional, or physical abuse by saying things like “If you didn’t X, I wouldn’t have Y.”
The most we can aim from life is to be well-adjusted.
Which means - appreciating relationships, shooting for growth, being okay with failures, valuing the present moment over some future outcome.
"I think the best way to prepare for the future 20 years is find something you love to do, to have a shot at being one of the best people in the world at it. Build an independent brand around it, with your name."

‘22 hours of battery life’ is a dry fact.
‘Lasts longer than the longest non-stop flight’ is storytelling.
Human beings are wired for stories. Don’t just dump information on your audience. Tell them stories.
Take charge of your life and shape your future. Set clear goals, create a solid plan, and take consistent action towards your dreams.
Remember, it is you who holds the power to determine your destiny.

BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
a. Speak with integrity.
b. Say only what you mean.
c. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.
d. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.
My advice is simple:
Find out what you want to do, then spend a long time — ideally with a group of really brilliant people — figuring out how best to do it.
And that’s it. I hope these ideas help you enter 2023 a little wiser.
