@ravi_rverma@EchidnaGiving@ICRW Need to get the word "gender" out in the open for discussion among children, teachers, and other actors - programs cannot be prescriptive but need to emerge from an understanding of existing norms, notions, and perspectives. @ravi_rverma#WD2023@ICRWAsia@WomenDeliver
@ravi_rverma shares the complexities of gender transformative interventions within schools and educational systems - when processes of change unfold differently among different stakeholders #WD2023@ICRWAsia@EchidnaGiving@ICRW
Adolescents may often be more receptive to gender equitable ideas and norms than teachers or school-level platforms and systems - thus it is critical to adopt an institutional approach to gender transformative change @ravi_rverma@EchidnaGiving@ICRW#WD2030
"If they don't give you a seat at their table, build your own table" - importance of youth initiative in building platforms for youth, by youth. Intergenerational partnerships can strengthen youth movements and build on lessons from feminist and other social movements. @ICRWAsia

Appreciate this intelligent take from @bmj_latest on toxic & health masculinity
Honestly there is direct line between Tate’s #misogyny & #sexualharassment, exploitation & abuse in major organizations from @UN to private sector
The rise of Andrew Tate as a major influencer has revived global attention to the need to engender progressive, healthy forms of masculinity, especially among young men and boys.
@ravi_rverma and Nalini V Khurana look at how we go about doing this

Glad to have the opportunity to share learnings from @ICRWAsia's work with youth at @ippfsar summit. Let's commit to meaningfully engage young people in research & center their voices - esp those at the margins - to develop and shape inclusive programs and policies on #SRHR.
“We need to engage #YoungPeople in evidence generation! They are not a homogenous group. We need to focus on changing social and cultural norms for the better,” says Nalini Khurana, @ICRW at the South Asia Regional Summit on #SRH.

Interesting to hear his reflections on the changes in students' and teachers' attitudes around the gendered division of work - questioning rigid gender roles and challenging the devaluation of household and unpaid care work largely undertaken by women and girls.
CDEO and Principal DIET , Udaipur shared about the importance of the issues covered under the GEMS for Boys curriculum- SRHR, Division of Labour, equality, respect and so on. He feels that we have made a beginning in making young boys and school teachers think about these issues.
