THREAD: I have spent months investigating the foreign mercenaries in DR Congo. I met some of them in Romania & Goma. One Romanian mercenary’s salary equaled that of 50 Congolese soldiers. The government says they are just 'instructors' but this is not entirely true @BBCAfrica.

On August 10, 2018, police killed 6-month-old baby Pendo.
Two years later, politicians brought Pendo's parents to Bomas as a symbol of reconciliation to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"Let my baby's blood be the last to be spilled," said his father.
In 2024, at least 40 people have been killed, and once again, the deaths are attributed to the police.

President William Ruto has declined to sign the Finance Bill, 2024.
State House sources told the Star that the Bill will be sent back to Parliament before they break for recess today.
