For the Body of Christ, this highlights the importance of prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters in China as this law is very much targeting the accelerated spread of Christianity that has been taking
place. While man tries to silence the gospel, we know God's Word cannot be chained (2 Timothy 2:9).

They sold you the sweetest lie: “Kibaki stopped domestic borrowing so money could finally flow to the people.”

The peasants clapped, eyes shining with hope, because hope is the cheapest narcotic.

The brief suspension of domestic borrowing was never about liberating capital for the masses. It was a calculated trap.

The plan was to temporarily dry up the treasury-bill market, starve rural cooperative societies of liquidity, and then lure peasants with newly licensed “people’s banks” - Equity Bank (formerly Equity Building Society), Family Bank (formerly Family Finance Building Society), and Unaitas (formerly Murang’a Teachers’ Cooperative/MURAMATI) all fast-tracked through rigged regulations.

Millions transferred their savings from collapsing Saccos to these gleaming new institutions, enticed by easy over-the-counter loans.

The plan was simple and diabolical: starve the rural cooperative societies of liquidity, make the old savings-and-loan model look dusty and broke, then parade shiny new “banks” (Equity, Family, Unaitas) as the modern messiahs.

Come, bring your little coffee earnings, your miraa money, your widow’s savings… open an account, take a friendly loan, buy that plot, build that house.

Feel progressive. Feel free.

While you were busy feeling modern, the trap snapped shut.

Interest rates quietly climbed to 30, 40, sometimes 70 % on reducing balance.

One missed installment and the auctioneers descended like vultures in suits.

Your grandmother’s half-acre in Kagio? Gone.

Your father’s motorbike? Gone.

All neatly transferred to the same banks that had smiled at you across the counter six months earlier.

But the genius, the true psychological masterpiece, was deeper than mere debt slavery.

They needed bodies (hundreds of thousands of desperate, de-rooted rural youth) to ship to the Middle East as modern house-slaves.

As long as coffee societies were paying bonuses, as long as a farmer in Othaya could clear school fees with one harvest, no daughter would board that flight to Riyadh for 25,000 bob a month.

So they murdered the coffee sector in cold blood.

KPCU was strangled, factories closed, debts called in, assets stripped.

Kibaki himself sat at State House, looked Othaya farmers in the eye, and sweet-talked them into selling their 500-acre Makindi-Mihuti farm “for development.”

Today it is Thika Greens Golf Estate, where Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi owns entire streets of million-dollar villas. What a coincidence.

At the launch of Thika Greens was former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Mwai Kibaki’s son Tony Kibaki. Kenneth sponsored the destruction of Muranga/Murata Farmers Cooperative Union. Today he spends weekends with the officials who looted it to its death-bed.

They broke the back of the rural economy on purpose, then sold the broken pieces back to you as “development.”

They weaponized your own trust, your respect for “Baba wa Taifa,” your belief that a man from your village couldn’t possibly betray you.

That, mũndũ wa nyũmba, is how you psychologially enslave an entire region:
Give them a hero from their own soil, let him whisper sweet progress, then use his smile to auction their future while they are still applauding.

Kibaki never freed capital. He redirected it, from your mother’s cooperative account straight into the offshore trusts of a new crop of billionaires.

And every time you see a desperate 23-year-old boarding an Emirates flight to go and wipe an Arab’s floor for two years, remember: that journey began the day Mwai Kibaki convinced your grandfather to sell the coffee farm “for your children’s future.”

@Karanimutonga Karani, Kibaki is not the hill to die on. Mt. Kenya got the roads, electricity etc. not only for him but also because his cabinet was mostly Mt. Kenya. They did their job but Kibaki didn't earn a praise. He's an election thief who entrenched brokerage as a government expense.
